Yah, I'd chalk most of your argument with smokey up to your naiveté that the scene is still like that and people are as they were in the good ole days. People just aren't that good anymore. Risk has gone up, supply has gone way down, old heads have moved on or died and the new ones don't give a shit about any of the old principals people lucky enough to be in their position used to have.
