Mastercard Deadline Came and Went - GoFuckYourself.com

Last month everyone was discussing the end of Mastercard billing through third party processors. The deadline that Mastercard supposedly gave was May 1, at which time, they were going to decline all MC transactions.

It is now May 8. Has anyone heard anything on this, or was Mastercard just bluffing? Was there some sort of settlement? Does anyone have any update or news on what is going on?

As I, and some people from other processing companies, stated, there would be no change.

Too bad some people chose to stir the pot and attempt to discredit our statements.

I don't think being concerned about such an announcement from Mastercard is "stirring up the pot".

And yes, there is no change, Mastercard released a statement to retract their eariler announcement/deadline.

Unfortunately you miss my point. When a company that processes transactions comes right out and prints that they've discussed the situation with Mastercard directly, and that in their case there will be no change, and then you have two other companies at least, who put into print the exact same thing, at that point continuing to attempt to scare webmasters in order to see benefit for your business (not you specifically) is rather shitty at best.

Had no one from any of the processors come out and said there would be no change, then it would have been a different matter altogether.

Actually this is far from over. If any of you were at the Mastercard meeting in Humboldt last week, you would know this. Mastercard at this time has granted aggregators extensions while they sort out what they truly want to be done. I am not saying that it will or will not happen. It is put on hold at this point. They did make it clear that all aggregators including PSPs who aggregate could directly be effected.

Regardless of what is said here, every third party processing company owner that I have spoken with is concerned at what the ultimate outcome could be, do not let anybody tell you differently. I do not need to list them here but can tell you I have spoken to most of the ones we are all familiar with.
