Fuck - Fuck - Fuck!
Went to get my oil changed this morning and just noticed that my new GPS system is missing from my console...as well as the cord that connects it to the cig lighter. Called the manager of the place and he says that the tech who worked on my truck is out to lunch. So, he calls me back a few minutes later and said he spoke to the tech and the tech never saw it - big surprise huh? I have no doubt that one of those clowns there has it but I have no proof. It was a Garmin Nuvi ($799) and was only a few months old - I really loved that damn thing

Seriously, if you are willing to waste a day file a small claims suit against the company. Fairly damn certain you would prevail in such a case if you say it was there before and you noticed it gone right after.

Give the manager a clear word that in case it wont turn back up by time X his ass will get into more trouble than a GPS for 799 bucks.
Quite sure he'll raid the place and his techs to avoid the hassle. ![]()

What you do is go back there for an oil change in a $500, with an expensive or hard to find replacement engine, beeter. Once they've finished the oil change take the car in an alley, unscrew the oil plug. Run the car until it seizes the engine, then you call them up and say you need a new engine because they forgott to plug the oil screw back in. That should pay back for your Garmin and then some in principle.
Shady schmucks. |
