Sorry to hear about this - breakups are never fun and even worse when having to be done in public. You two were such a great couple that it's going to be hard for someone like me to come to grips that it wasn't perfect!

Lol, I find these sparsely located little oases of honesty refreshing, in an otherwise endless sea of brown-nosing which is the norm on GFY.

Anyway, I don't know Tassy or Halcyon and have no reputation to be ruined by 'treading on the wrong toes', so I'll just say what's on everyone's mind but what they are too afraid to say themselves. I understand that they are decent people but also understand that they have made themselves into public figures, so they are no longer exempt from comment.

Firstly, I read a blog post by Halcyon in which he hinted that the break up was due to his 'problem', which I took to mean either he was gay (I know from reading GFY that he is a bit fruity) or had some mental issue (he said he was seeing a therapist about it). In which case, the breaking-up-because-of-lesbianism thing is probably a marketing ploy.

If the lesbianism thing is true, then regardless of what Halcyon may or may not say, it's all a rather humiliating experience for him. I don't need to explain the reasoning behind that one - you GFYers know what I mean :winkwink:

Or, was the entire relationship a sham in the first place, to put Flashcash on the map? If so, then it was very clever, like when they give Tom Cruise a 'girlfriend' to shore-up the money-making machine.

The one think that has always kept me from dating anyone in the industry (though there are so many benefits to it) is what happens when it ends. Good to see two people handle it in a loving and professional way! Nothing is worse than personal divides causing business divides! Kudos (and love) to both of you.

Congratulations Halcyon and tASSY for creating a meaningful relationship that lasted for a good long time. Just because things end, it doesn't mean they weren't successful -- it just means that things change. We all grow and evolve in unpredictable ways; so do relationships.

I'm sure that while the romance is over for now, the love, understanding, friendship, work relationship, and all those other elements of what made you two so compatible will continue to flourish.
