Tonight I would happily bare the child of any member of Depeche Mode

Though obviously Mr. Gahan would be my first choice. I just got back into the house after seeing them for the first time at Wembley.

I have to be honest and say that I was somewhat worried that I would be disappointed by the show. I was pretty much too young to have seen them in their hayday and since being old enough I had had the chance to see them. I was worried that I would get a show that was them just going through the motions and something I had waited so long for would just be 'okayish'. Then I was also worried since they have a new(ish) album and so it would be possible that they wouldn't play much if any of their older stuff.

Firstly, they did play a good amount of the new album but even though I like the album for some reason those songs sound a heck of a lot better live then they do on the album. Once we had paid our dues by listening to the new stuff it was one great song after another. I didn't expect any Vince era stuff and we didn't really get any but when we were thrown the Vince bone of 'Just Can't Get Enough' in one of the encores the place really got into it.

Personal highlights for me was, of course 'Personal Jesus', 'A Question Of Time' , 'John The Revelator' and 'Enjoy The Silence' but pretty much every song was great. Of course, I didn't get to hear every song I wanted to hear but they honestly could do two more complete concerts and things would be left out that I would have liked to have heard. It would have been cool to hear Little 15 but I seriously would have loved to have heard "Blasphemous Rumours" as it is my faveorite DM song but bands usually don't play my faveorite of their songs for some reason.

Even the opening act wasn't that bad. It ws the Bravery who have been the darlings of the NME for a while now and they weren't bad considering most open acts suck and/or I have never heard of them.

Anyway, that is one more band crossed off my 'must see before I die list' Only one left...

No they didn't do Black Celebration. They only pic I managed to get was on my phone and from where I was it is just a ball of coloured light.

I flew back from Phoenix a day earlier than I normally would to go to this show and I am glad that I am glad I did. Would have sucked to have flown 5,000+ miles for a sucky gig.

Living in London has made it easier to scratch bands off. That and the popularity of come back shows.

Depeche Mode was one of my favorite band, together with U2, back in my teen years. I put a lot of gel in my hair and wear white shirt under a black leather jacket.

My favorite songs from the band are:

Strangelove
Blasphemous Rumours
Everything Counts
The Policy of Truth
Never Let Me Down Again
It's Called A Heart
Home
Love In Itself
Shake The Disease

Sarah I have a little confession to make. It was your post that alerted me to the tickets ages ago and I was also at the show and had a blast. In fact I believe I was 2 rows behind you (if it was you with two others in block S15), however I felt it would have been rude to just come up to you when you were with friends on a night out. I have just got home having spent the night in The Plaza and joy of joys my Morrissey tickets were awaiting me on the doorstep

But yes they were absolutely awesome and I thought Dave was an amazing entertainer. I think my highlights were Home, Personal Jesus, Everything Counts and I feel You. The only song I wish they had played which they didnt was People are People but what the heck, it was a great night.

You should have said hello! I said to my friends that I thought somebody else from GFY was going to be there. They know what I do If you were two seats behind then you were behind the Australian guy that kept yelling 'More Time!'.

I also said to my friends that once they played Just Can't Get Enough they opened that door and then I wanted to hear People are people.

The only downside of the whole show for me was those stairs. I kept having flashes of falling down and cracking me head open. It was a rush to make my train home because of how late they played but it was worth it.

Also I would love to see Morrisey. When I got home my Placebo tickets were waiting for next week. Eighth time seeing them but they will have a lot to live up to this time.

I hear they are back to playing Nancy Boy. I saw them three times on the last tour (it was a long ass tour covering two years) including the album launch gig and they weren't playing it at all on the tour.

They *never* play Burger Queen. Atleast not in the eight gigs I have been to which is my faveorite of theirs (next to Scare Of Girls).

I have missed one London show since 1997 and Robert Smith showed up and sang with them! Considering The Cure are the only band left on my 'must see before I die' list that was enough to teach me a lesson..lol.

Ive seen Morrissey quite a few times on a few tour...

92' Your Arsenal
97' Maladjusted
00' Oye Esteban
04' You Are The Quarry

I think the 92' and 04' shows were my favorite...I got to meet him and the band at the Nashville show in 04'...that was a good night...Next to the Pogues his shows are some of my favorites...

For some reason the Pouges follow me around. I go to a city on a vacation and chances are they are playing there that week. One time I might actually get around to seeing them.

Imagine Sarah, how bummed out I was, when they cancelled their first show in the US here in Fort Lauderdale, due to the Hurricane aftermath.

Of course, I was part of the few that didn't hear about it, nothing like 5 limos in front of the venue with all the passengers looking at each other in pain.

I am, without a doubt, very jealous.

Yes, I would be very bummed..did they reschedule?

Yeah I would like to see them again, still on a high from the concert.

So far I have 3 more shows lined up for this year, Morrisey, Radiohead and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Im still sniffing around for others that may pique my interest though.

With no glasto this year it may be that the bigger names are playing more solo gigs. Is your Morrisey gig at Alexandra Palace? My Placebo gig is there and I am trying to figure out how the heck and I am getting back home from there. They usually play Brixton.

The people next to us were German (and always left during the really good songs) so atleast part of her theory stood up.

I never missed THe Cure in CZech - 2 times. Its really a legend to me

This has got to be a girls thread. I mean, don't get me wrong I know all of their songs because all of my girlfriends loved DM. I suffered from that a lot and my psychologist tells me that with lots of medication, I should get over it before I'm 55.

For a band based in London they don't play London very often. They did a charity show on the 1st of this month in London but I was still in Arizona.

Did they play "Somebody"?

I want somebody to share...share the rest of my life...share my innermost thoughts...or my intimate details...

All the Touring The Angel shows are similar to one another. Check the pix from St.Pete, USA here:

If you look at their website they have their playlists. They are mostly the same but the encores are different in the different lists.
