![]() Ok, I have a question for all of you. With this latest rash of viruses that's been going around, it's been a pain in the ass, but to notice that I've been sending myself these fucking viruses, it REALLY ticks me off
![]() I've ran all kinds of virus protection on it and did things that people said to do to get rid of it, but nothing can ever find the virus, so I figured that I'd call up my ISP provider to see if it could be something on the mail server and they said, that it couldn't be. WELL, just today I noticed that overnight, I got emailed viruses from myself at all hours of the early morning, like 1am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am. The thing is that I shut my computer at night, so if I'm shut down, how could it be my computer emailing myself the viruses ??? Wouldn't that point the finger back at my ISP mail server or something else ??? |

I had the same thing happen but it wasn't from my isp but from a non adult domain that I registered years ago and it only redirects to another domain. I don't use it for email yet I got quite a few viruses last night from [email protected] How they knew my name or even where to find my domain is another mystery.
I'm sick of these viruses. I use virus protection and it does catch it but it's a pain to have to delete and heal all these emails. I'd too like to know what anyone may know about what's going on with these viruses lately. I get at least 20/day with different subject lines and I know hundreds of people this is happening to. I have no addys in my address book as to prevent infecting others. |

I was having the same problem. Tam wrote to ,me and mentioned that in the full complete headers you will notice that they may not be coming from me. And they weren't.

is that the 134K base64 fucked-up mime emails with a subject but empty message that has IFrame in it?
Its so fucking annoying. I wanna burn the people who wrote that. Happily - Im using a descent mailServer (=NOT MS-Exchange) which dont pass the "mime attachment" because its illegal - so I dont see the effect of it - but its annoying to get so much emails with different subjects and no message-body. Is that the virus you ppl see? |

I think that the virus in question is the Klez virus, which doesnt work in the same way as others...
Heres how it works... Take 3 People, A, B, & C... Person A Gets infected... The virus randomly chooses a name in the infected pc's address book... The addy it picks is that of person B. Then using that name, (ie person B) it sends itself to everyone else in person A's address book... Person C is in the Address book of person A, and recives an email from Person B, which has the virus... Person C contacts prson B whom the email is apprently from, and informs him he is infected... Person B scans his pc, and can find nothing... In the above example, Slick would be person B... Hope that the above makes sense, and that it helps... Luv Lay xx

Yes, lots of the emails have no text in the message body, only that MIME thing that auto-prompts you to open the file. Never open the file. But there is also another person spamming that is A) sending spams from the email addresses of others, and B) attaches files of varying sizes and names to his emails, and C) he does usually put some short text in the mails and he's easily spotted for this reason. His messages are always something like "I have found the secret of successes, I hope you would like it" or.... the last one he sent to me early this morning said something like "This is the new Explorer, I hope you would enjoy it" That guy sounds an aweful lot like the guy who was responsible for all the millions of "I send you this file in order to have your advice" emails. I hate that guy. I want to step on his throat and watch him squirm and flail like a squid out of water. ![]() ___________ CD * CD's Models on the Web International ~ Models ~ database new trades welcome. * Looking to buy traffic? 2k+/day for 2 weeks for 200 bucks?
