Ever take a look at your cable bill?

I'll admit i am bad at not looking at all the charges on my bills
just pay and go
alot easier

but today I looked

Taxes and Fee's
Franchise Fees 6.58
FCC User fee 0.06
and a bunch of other local state and goverment taxes

but wtf is a god damn fanchise fee?
total taxes and fee's are 28.37


Cable/Data service 138.80
Digital Phone Services 39.95
Pay per video / on demand orders 31.60

for a grand total of 232.90

And i hate the service they provide as well

Phone bills are same or worse. Notorious for false charges too, and people rarely even look and notice it seems.

I think franchise fee's are the fees passed on to your for carrying certain channels that the channels charge the cable company access fee's for.

Then again I may be wrong.

Yup but phone bills, (all of them) contain at least 1 illegal charge/fee. In the US at least.
