I dislocated my Knee in Phoenix during out basketball game.(pic)

It came out when I shifted my weight left and then back right quickly. The knee popped out and my leg bent at an inverted angle. I know a few people had to cover there eyes, I wanted to as well. It was a pretty loud sound that left me yelling on the ground.

My leg was locked in a crooked position. Poppy had to snap it back into place.

Here is what the post-swelling looked like. I am going tot he doctor tomorrow. Thanks to all those that helped, including all of you at the game, Mo from translationsxxx.com for getting me ice packs the next morning.

Damn, that sucks man. Stay off it as much as possible, I've had both of mine dislocated and it's no fun at all. I had to stay off them for 6 weeks and then slowly start walking again. If you try to walk too much now you may permanently stretch the ligaments and have your knee pop out constantly.

The good news is the pain & numbness does lessen with each successive dislocation, but be prepared for degenerative arthritis & a throbbing pain every once in a while.

The exercise that I found helped the most was stair climbing. It kept my knees strong and I can't recall them ever popping out when I was jotting up a few flights of stairs every day.

Ouch Cory! I used to have to deal with that constantly with tennis.. Especially my shoulder. Just stay off of it for a bit and hopefully you'll avoid much permanant damage.

Cory, best of luck brother. I brought you that cane and you weren't using it. I kept asking because you were limping pretty bad. Jack took it and was happy to use it.

It seems every year that someone gets hurt at the Phoenix Forum. Last year it was CCBill; I also remember Kimmy Kim breaking he ankle once.

I feel your pain man! I got in a wreck last summer...& i gotta say, taking a shot to the knees is about the worst injury there is.

One of the reasons why I did not show up for that event - but played GOLF instead...

Get better soon.

Agreed! I now consider it a blessing every time I take a step and one of my knees does not give out, pop out or cause me shooting pain.

Cory, if the doc says stay off of it. Listen to him. Don't learn the hard way that he knew what he was talking about like I did

Do you normally work out or exercise at all or was this a once in a blue moon type of thing?

It's funny, when softball season starts, visits to the ER jump up substantially. People who do nothing most of the year all of a sudden trying to run bases like their pros.

I know you were playing basketball, not baseball, but is the same symptom or just bad luck?

Play 3 times a week. Total bad luck man.

I think the issue was that the court traction was tough, my foot got stuck when I shifted weight.
