Phoenix Forum ? The only show we need?

Phoenix Forum ? The only show we need?

I am about to leave Phoenix and the INCREDIBLE hospitality, organizational and managerial skills of the team at CCBill, DRM Networks and Cave Creek after 4 nights of productive meetings and relationship building and renewal.

Seriously, if I had to attend one Industry event a year, it would be The Phoenix Forum. I was worried (as I had been in prior years) that there were too many people now; not the ?small group? we used to have here. But forget that. The seminars, attendees, events, and environment was without a doubt the best yet!

As a person that prides myself on organizational skills and attention to details, I was unbelievably impressed and amazed at the level these fine folks have achieved.

Ok, enough of this non paid endorsement. ;)

The question?..

Why do we need more that one event a year if we have this event as an Industry?

The question of ?shows? was brought up on the State of The Industry Panel discussion the other day by our moderator, Johnny V. (The ?panel?, btw, was as produced as any TV show you would attend for a taping?again, attention to detail?) We have an event every month, at least. I love to see my friends and associates. I get business done at all shows, but nothing in comparison to Phoenix.

So that is the topic I would like to hear you guys talk about, if you would. ?How many shows do we need to be a cohesive group??

Many thanks to Ron, Mr. and Mrs. C, and every person that put on this event.

C

PS: I am flying all day so I may not post until tomorrow...

Phoenix Forum is BY FAR my favorite gathering of the year...

...thus far!

I encourage EVERYONE who has enjoyed their experiences at this event to definitely consider joining XBIZ this summer at the Hardrock Hotel July 12th through the 14th!

To kick off the year, The Cadwells do an unprecedented job at bringing all of us together for fun, networking and learning...this summer, XBIZ will strive to maintain the same excellence that CCBill boasts and deliver another VALUABLE event at the half-way point of the calendar year.

If you are a fan of The Phoenix Forum, the XBIZ Summer Industry Forum is NOT to be missed!

See you all there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. THANK YOU Ron, Mama and Papa Cadwell, Sherri, and the whole CCBill team for a most incredible experience! xoxoxoxoxo

I agree with you Trax - imo 3 or 4 serious ones should do the trick - there needs to be a healthy balance of work and play to justify the costs however.

i think this was one of the best shows for a few reason, the only other one i would like to attend would be webmaster access in ams just so we would have the chance to meet webmasters in that area who arent able to make it to states for whatever reason. this show has really set the bar as to what a sponsor can do to make it worth while for every one. thank you ccbill

First off the Phoenix forum is the best show of the year hands down I totally agree with you 100%. As for the other shows i use mostly as a vacation. Most webmasters including myself work 7 days a week 10 hours a day.

I couldn't agree more!

If I could only go to one show a year I would no question pick the Phoenix Forum.

The atmosphere, food, organization of the events, parties, drinks, weather.........................once again was all perfect this year.

Hats off to the CCBill crew for throwing the best put together show of the year!

I am in the airport actually sending follow up emails to people I met with at the Phoenix Forum.

I can't remember th elast time I was so busy that I actually hit the ground running before I even got home!

If nothing else, the Phoenix Forum puts people together with great people, in an incredible laid back setting.

Big props to to all the CC BILL people and everyone who worked their ass off on a great show.

We need more than one show a year, that's for sure. Some of us need to get together more than once for business reasons, and it's great that everyone is in one place at the same time five or six times a year.

What a great show this. CCBill does a great job every year, they always have.

One show a year is maybe not enough. But I agree we have 'to many' shows. But many webmasters, see them as a holliday. I see them as business, and I go on holliday with my personal friends.

CCbill is a class act for sure. And they know how to organize an event as well. Eye for details etc etc. The Pnx show is THE place to be nowadays. And all other shows can 'fight' for the second best.

We wanted to hit Phoenis reallyt bad this year... Patty just got a surgery, so we had to skip this one I'm sure it was GREAT though.. CC-Bill people rocks big time

Actually, I do think that yes we need more than one show...

The way I see it, not everyones can make it to all of them (except some happy few).. And sometimes, it's not just the money, it's the time, period, etc... So many factor make that you CAN make it to that particulat show and CAN'T for this another one... (Remark here I said CAN and not WANT)...

If I'd go to every show I want, I wouldn't have no time left to work. This is good for me going at show promoting our one (QWEBEC Expo) and get Design Jobs, but after I got these jobs, I have to deliver...

Also each show have what I call his goegraphical "Natural Market" ... So having many shows in different periods & places is not a bad thing, you choose which ones you WANT/CAN attend and that's it... Who said that everyone have to make it to all of them....

But of course I might be a biased a little

Now see sig

Its my favorite out of all the shows. I like the YP too. The main reason I appreciate these shows is becuase they are setup to create an environemn to learn, network and also have fun. Not the other way around. Thanks to all the sponsors, CCbill, Ron and family for all the food, drinks, and entertainment.

The Phonix Forum is on my list of "must attend" shows every year. And this year's was definitely the best by far for WebcamCash.

Thanks for CCBill and all the Phoenix Forum sponsors!

I must say as my first show I was blown away. People were VERY welcoming, and I did more business than I ever expected. The hospitality of the sponsors was amazing. The only thing I paid for other than my flight, and hotel was cab fare. Refreshments and great dinners were always provided, and the whole experience was over the top.

i think the mix of a few larger shows and a bunch of smaller, more personal ones in remote locations works well

I'd like to second all that Chris said in opening this thread re: the fantastic quality of the Phoenix Forum.

The show was super productive for NewbieNudes and I will definitely return next year, it is a must attend show.

Re: The question - I think the number of shows is getting a little over the top - but then again, if they get filled - then there is a demand. Maybe having a CCBill major sponsored event twice a year is the answer? ;)

Thanks to all that made the show possible and to the attendees that also made the event what it is.

Michael

Phx forum is by far the best show ever for organization, hospitality, learning, and networking. I wish I could have been there this year!

2 or 3 shows a year is all that is needed but the destinations must be able to change often enough so that those that can't attend one on the west coast can go to the one on the east coast.

Getting ready for Webmaster access Toronto in May!!!

Gotta be one of the dumber questions ever asked on this board...

Why do we need more than one processor? Why do we need more than one sponsor? Why do we need more than one board, hosting company, content provider, design company, you name it?

Simple. WE DON'T. But they're around thanks to free competition and entrepreneurial spirits will always look for market segments to exploit. To put it in simpler words: EVERYONE WANTS TO MAKE MONEY.

The last thing we need is another show.

There are way too many but I do feel we need more than just the Phoenix forum. Different people attned so many different shows and there is alot of value to the booths as well that you get at the AVN shows too. However, 4 major ones a year is enough for sure with 1 or two other smaller gatherings in between, not 20.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS

from the show bags, the munchies shacks, the mentality that you really arent permitted to pay for anything, and the ccbill empoyees undying efforts and hard work to make sure that people are having a great time is why they know what is up. they are 10000% in touch and have their thumb on the pulse of the business. thats what it takes and thats what they do.

my pics will be up soon.

I totally agree. This is the only show I believe we will be attending from now on. There is a show every 4 days now and its not productive IMO. The whole CCbill team did an amazing job. Thanks to Ron and his entire staff. As for Johnny V., I have never met him, but I was thoroughly impressed with the way he handled the state of the industry. I was joking on my way in about how its always the same recording each and everytime and Johnny blew that completely out of the water and made for a great informative hour. I honestly wished we had 2 hours for that meeting as it was worth it. Great Job Johnny! To everyone else I I had a blast thanks for everything!

Louis

This was easily the most important show we have ever had as an industry. The extraordinary convenience of the venue, the unprecedented attendance, the moment in history. If you didn't leave Phoenix having transformed your business, you were asleep. Nice to see ya there, Chris.

Yes.. as oversaturated as the industry is in many ways (shows included).. definately hats off to the Phoenix Forum. Arizona was increddddible ! So much that we missed our flights sunday morning and had to buy new ones at the airport sunday night !

Thank you sooo much CCBill.. we can all rest a little better now ;)

After the 2005 show, it became my favorite show. I don't know that one is enough, but PF is the "must attend" show for sure.

By far, one of the best shows of the year.

This thread is to acknowledge CCBill and gang for upholding what a 'business show' means.

I hope this thread doesn't turn into a shameless opportunity for people to promote/spam other shows or slam others.

The Phoenix Forum was truly professional, I hope this thread stays that way...as I believe Chris intended it to be

Phoenix seriously rocked

This show, which is my favorite, just gets better every year -
but having said that, there is room for other shows, including our upcoming
XBIZ Summer Forum

As far as shows go, The Phoenix Forum is in a class by itself. If I only attended one show a year this would be it, however I think a good 3 or 4 shows are necessary since not everyone can make it to each show.

Thank you CC Bill!!!

What can I add that hasn't already been said? Phoenix was the best show I've attended so far, hands down, from 3:30am conversations in the hotel hallways to the convenience of the food huts to the seminars and event scheduling. The hotel staff was unbelievably on the ball compared to other events I've been to, and hey, when a waitress doesn't blink at serving a table full of fleshlights and lube, you know you're in the right place.
