sorry, but GUBA has gone *way* past the point of a source of free promotion... i have personally had two of my own smaller paysites ripped totally and labeled as such ("siterip" w/ URL) show up on GUBA and had to go through their ridiculous charade of asking them to remove content they had no right to be selling in the first place.

GUBA is no longer just an indexer of the usenet, not when they are hosting the content themselves and *REPACKAGING* and *RE-ENCODING* media they have no right to alter or provide. when you look at the more common usenet indexers like newzbin.com (who indexes groups but is not a NNTP provider) it is obvious GUBA is providing a much different service, and reaping the financial rewards from it that they shouldn't be entitled to... site owners shouldn't have to police their damn site for them.

just because they have pilfered a lot of money w/ their operation doesn't somehow make them or their rogue business model legit all of a sudden... worse than CJ and their content-thieving history by a hundredfold. it takes more than a booth at a convention or paid promotion in our industry circles to suddenly make you NOT A CROOK.

i hope any affiliate people who promotes their scam portal find themselves in the future blacklisted from legitimate programs and outfits, which would be all the sweeter if GUBA gets taken down w/ a flood of lawsuits... as a paysite owner i'd have no pity on anyone who promotes and facilitates them.

i heard that that they are trying to make some content deals with people and get out of the usenet game. for their sakes i hope they do. if they make that shit like imagecash, its so on and the gloves are off. content costs motherfucken money this shit jsut doesnt show up on the internet by itself.

you know its funny too, i talked to several content producers and program owners in phoenix about it. everyone was blindsided and didnt learn what they were about till everyone started the uproar. they snuck in the bd with us and tried to fuck us without lube. no one i talked to had anything good to say about the way they ahhhhhem "distribute" our content. its one thing if they want to make a deal on your content, shit ask or something motherfuckers. instead they go out and suck usenets titties to fill their drives and then turn around and come into the affiliate game via GFY and try to get affils to send consumers to a big bank of content that they didnt even attempt to pay any rights holders for. fuck that big bag of shit.
