DirectTV is a bunch of retarded tools...

I ordered High Definition shit through Verizon so everything is on one bill. Wrong move... The guy shows up with standard shit...

I turn him away and call and cancel the order and have a new one made with DirectTV themselves. We talk for 30 minutes about how Verizon fucked up my HD order and how I will get HD tomorrow.

They come and no HD... Standard again... Only this time I let him install it without asking since this is the fix to yesterdays problem...

So I call... They can't send someone out for 4 days... OK... Fucking sucks watching low def on an HDTV, but whatever...

Two guys come with the right box and dish. But the guy who installed the low def fucked something up so they take about 5 hours to fuck with shit. Then I hear a loud bang... They dropped the new dish off the roof and guess what? It is fucked... So now they need to come back on Monday with a new dish because they have no others to give me...

So I get on the phone with them and tell em this is complete bullshit and I know they have a dish somewhere and one of these fuckers needs to go and get it and install it today.

After about 30 minutes of telling the manager he is a tool and this is the shitiest service I have ever received without vasaline, he gives me the HD-DVR for free and gets the other dish installed...

So I can't be all sour grapes since their fuck up saved me $499...

Weird how the world works ehh?

I guess this means I made $998 an hour today...

lol well you got a kickass receiver out of the deal. I have the HD receiver, but wold love the built in DVR/HD one. I haven't had problems with DirecTV in the year I have been signed up.

I guess it is a problem with the installers being contracted from other companies... The guy who came with the correct dish and installed it in working order was a true DirectTV employee, everyone else wasn't and some of them seemed like they really had no idea what they were doing...

I have the DVR for HD as well. It's pretty nice, I just cannot wait till they get more channels. They were supposed to have a ton at the end of last year, but I havn't heard anything else about it.

I went thru the same thing when I first moved into my house last year. The installers coming with the wrong equipment does not surprise me. I went thru that twice, and the first installer did not speak a word of English.

I raised hell with them as well and they sent an installer out who re-ran every cable thru the attic, drops into all the rooms I have TV's in, all really nice and clean. (5 tv's with directv, plus two tivos) Now I have his # so any issue I have I call him directly now.

I have the same HD-DVR receiver, once its hooked up, you?re gonna love. Discovery HD rocks!!!

All you had to do was by a certain reciever ( i wont mention the specific name) and an 18 inch dish for 400 bucks, .....

allowing you to capture bird feeds from the middle east, asia , europe, south america, and north america......every single channel un blocked, and all channels in h.d. where applicable.

You even get to peep into the control rooms of the satellite service providers .

lmao@ the fools running a stream of their tech dept over the air waves

This is nuts.. First, we are both named Jay... Second, I also got a non-English speaking installer on the first visit. Third, these guys basically reran the entire thing today. Fourth, one of them gave me his number so he can hook me up later when I get the audio system.

This must be their playbook?
