Various online tests have put me between 120 and 135. I'm certainly closer to 120 than to 135, though.

No one is honest on polls like this. The people that tick high marks are really stupid and the people that tick the lowest marks are just trying to screw with the poll.

Ive done a few and they are between 133 and 144.

I did score the only 100% ever on a standard Uni entry test a few years ago. However, I didnt take it at the same time as the others.... I was on my own in the exam room - also, I didnt even know I was taking it until 10 mins before hand. I had no time to get nervous.

Im sure all those sort of variables make a big difference.

Never taken an IQ test. Where, when, and why do people take it?

I got a 168 on the last test I took but it's online so WTF does that mean? I was interested in showing up for a Mensa test and seeing how I do on something more official like that. But like most "geniuses" I'm too lazy! =]

The poll isn't flawed, considering its goal. It wasn't my intent to find out the actual iq scores of GFY members, but rather to expose the lunacy of IQ claims often made by GFY members.

A full professorship in business at a good university, for example, will make you up to about $100k a year, which isn't that much. However, it also opens up lots of chances for earning money on the side (writing books, giving lectures, consulting government or businesses, etc.), and looks great on a resume.

160 is considered GIFTED. Over 140 is considered GENIUS or near genius. People over 160 are considered High genius(nober prize winners) like Einstein and the likes. I doubt anyone in this thread actually has anything over 130, or even 120 on that matter. Besides me of course.

Although we commonly refer to IQ by raw numbers, they can be confusing because there are different tests and different scales. For example, in the US the usual standard deviation applied is 15 or 16, but in Europe it is 24 or 25. Thus an IQ of 130 in the US can be equivalent to an IQ of 150 in Europe.

The minimum entry level for Mensa in the UK (placing someone in the top 2%) varies according to the test:

Cattell III B - 148
Culture Fair - 132
Ravens Advanced Matrices - 135
Ravens Standard Matrices - 131
Wechsler Scales - 132

I believe that the Wechsler (WISC III/IV) tests are most often used in the US, while Mensa uses Cattell and Culture Fair, noting that a middle-aged adult cannot score more than 161 on the Cattell test.

Mine have always run in the general area of 143-149, I guess that's not bad, right? :upsidedow

I have taken a couple IQ tests. The last one I got 129 and according to the "norm" that is above normal..... ask my friends and they will disagree too.... "Joe above average???!! Naah! " :)

Then again, in the army I took a test, dont know the result, but they put me in the bombsquad. That probably indicate a very low IQ :)
