Hey guys !
What kind of digital camera do you suggest me to be the best one for around 500$ ?

I already have a powershoot A510 but I think that the photos I take are not a really good quality so thats why i want a new one.

I'd save up the bucks and pick up a good dslr in the $2k range (minimum). Get something with manual functions and good interchangeable lenses.

Then again, all depends what you're usin' the camera for.

I use a Sony Mavica-CD, but I agree with these guys...save up and get the more expensive cam. You won't regret it.

they are right, save more and buy the latest and much expensive yet better camera. Samsung and Sony have just released their 7 megapixel cam.

Depends what you're using the camera for. If you're photographing something to put up on a 20-foot roadside billboard, then more Mp the better.

If you're just photographin' for the web, pretty much anything over 4-6Mp is overkill. I shoot with a 4.1Mp olympus e10 dslr and its just right for web content - gives me good latitude for cropping. 8-10mP or greater is good for high-quality print applications.

That said, all the megapixels in the world won't make a mediocre photographer into a great photographer.

Is that in US dollars? Even a 350D (Digital Rebel XT) will put out MUCH higher quality images than a P&S, and that costs about $US700. Get it with the 18-55mm plastic kit lens to start with and then buy better lenses in the future...

My only gripe with the 350D is that it's a little too small, it doesn't balance well if you have large hands.

We just picked up the Cannon EOS Rebel Xt about a month and a half ago and absolutely love it. I paid around 1k for it at Staples (I needed it right then and there though,lol) I know you can pick them up alil bit cheaper than that. It is a great price though for a low end camera. My hubby was worried about the ease of use but, he seems to do real well with it. We have always had a point and shoot and that just didnt do the trick. But, like they said, lol depends on what you are using it for.

Would love to see some pics you took with it. Mine are hit and miss...sometimes it looks like a pro was using the cam...sometimes it looks like an idiot was. BTW...have you had any problems with yours? There was a mass recall for a sensor that goes bad in them. Sony will fix it for free.
