I also made 46 sales for HUNDIES.

Reason: Members' area access period.

The only three reasons I think I don't get access to review the members' area...
1.) They have a shitty members' area.
2.) They don't trust me.
3.) They think they are the only affiliate program on the Internet and don't meet their conditions.
a. You have only been an affiliate for a week.
b. You haven't sent more than 10 sales to our program.

Affiliate programs that gave me access have had great members' area and consistently get my traffic.

Affiliate that didn't give me access or just ignored me got no traffic.

The best example of affiliate support with automatic members' access to all their sites is HUNDIES.

you're also, "known" and "respected". :)

if joe schmo surfer turned affiliate with not one click of traffic just signs up to get a free password, that doesn't cut it.

thanks to all you guys who said some really nice things about our program in this thread... we try hard to work with everyone.

there are a few reasons to not just hand out a pass... the obvious being surfers, but beyond that we do need to protect the content... there are many very new webmasters and surfers turned webmasters who do not know how to promote a site to actually sell... some people think that posting hours of free vids is the way to go and may give away an entire members area only because they did not know any better. That hurts all of us... the program and the other affiliates trying to sell something that someone just gave away.

but overall... being nice, giving a few references(most webmasters have many) and explaining your needs will get you a pass 99% of the time or better.. also you can tell us what you need if nothing in the affiliate section matched your criteria, we will pull it, cut it and get it ready... so you do not need to do the work. A brand new affiliate with no sales and no references can get everything they need by looking at the tour and asking us for specific sets.

no need to justify yourself. content is expensive. nuff said.

I think HoDough is one of the top 5 up and coming programs started in the past year. Whether they give membership passes or not, it won't matter. Those sites will be on the tip of people's tongues within the year so get in while the getting's good.

pornguy 03-27-2006 05:07 PM

I see both sides of it as well. But I myself would have made a little more effort to find out who the guy is.

Abyss_Vee 03-27-2006 05:47 PM

hodough support is top notch. :thumbsup

daidevo 03-27-2006 09:13 PM

Back when I started with Hodough I asked for a user/pass and was asked if I could send a few sales first. I thought that was completely fair so I sent some sales and received my user/pass. Almost every sponsor has some free content that should be more than enough to generate a few sales with. I think is a great idea that sponsors do this in order to protect their conent.
Hodough has some of the best affiliate support I've received!
Oh and I think Maya's hot.
Oh, and Im hot too.

jackie1 03-27-2006 10:33 PM

Hodough gave me a pass for BubbleButtBonanza but I had a few sales first though.

My secrets to getting members access are ; send around 15-20 sales first in 1 period before asking for access and then ask for access during that same period so that when the affiliate rep logs in their admin they can see those sales, if you wait until the next pay period and you start at 1 or 2 sales again it doesn't look as good.

The best way is to start sending traffic at the beginning of the period, and then ask for a pass at the end of the pay period so you can get the most amount of sales. I always plan it first, so that when I ask for a pass it coincides with a period where I got a decent amount of sales. I don't ask for passes randomly, it's always orchestrated at the moment when I had a lot of sales.

I am also extremely whorish I will do whatever it takes to get members content, such as by showing screenshots of statsremote, I will even give
affiliate reps user log ins and passwords to my top sponsors so they can log in and see the stats. Once they see your sending over 100 sales a month to one program a month you can pretty much get members access anywhere unless their extremely strict. Gotta do whatever it takes to get a leg up the competition.

Pornwolf 03-27-2006 10:54 PM

You aren't the norm Jackie. Most people that ask for passwords couldn't send 15 sales in a month.

1hoho 03-28-2006 01:17 AM

wow... jackie... thats complicated...

I have 347 sales this month according to my stats remote which is a very slow month. Big mistake to give access to a rep to another affiliate program.

bobby666 03-28-2006 10:39 AM

interesting discussion, and i wonder how self-confident webmasters are nowadays - i consider the starting of this thread as an own goal

I have 445 so far :winkwink: Yea, it could be a bad idea, I thought it would be ok if the rep was well known and trusted, I don't think they would dare do anything bad, it's just to show the # of sales sent since screenshots can be faked, I thought it would be ok. I'm a whore for content though, but that's just me. I wouldn't do it usually unless the site was really killer and i really really wanted to promote it.
