According to my rather incredibly-extensive knowledge [[choke]] I would say that Lab is pretty much correct. A true matriarchy extends all the way down into the family unit itself, not just determining who has overall political control. However, I have read of a time that existed (well before Christ) where people simply did not know exactly how babies were started, thus there was a lot of spiritual belief about it. Women were revered and OFTEN put in charge, and that did extend to the family unit as well. But, apparently during that time there were still men who acted as leader of other tribes and "clans" and such.

However, I don't believe there was any time when the entire earth was ruled by women like it is now by men. It's just the way it is. The saying "anything a man can do, a woman can do better" is nice and all for rallying the spirits of women, but the sad fact is that even the biggest toughest of women would be crushed in a typical NFL or NHL game.... even the #1-ranked women's tennis player would be lucky to crack the top 100 in the men's side...... as far as I know there are no women in the top 10 world chess masters, dart players or pool/snooker players, and the fact that women can't pee on a campfire or write their names in the snow with their whiz is pretty much the final nail, no? :stoned

Aside from all the above "facts" I still gotta say it.... damn I love women. If a woman get's "too dang uppity" those men tend to drop them cold and go find a woman that will shut up and screw.

But that's just "in general"...... not all men are geared that way. Some men choose to respect women as equals, but again, it's a choice, not a mandatory thing whatsoever. I try my best to respect people, but I don't particularly like seeing women being given jobs simply because they are female when there were better stronger male candidates, like for the job of fire-fighter or cops etc. Even in my former career as a health care worker, there were women that held the same job as me on other wards too, but they would continually call me for assistance when lifting certain heavy patients, yet the males on the job were able to work alone. The women demanded and got "equal pay for equal work"... yet they aren't really doing equal work now are they? No, they aren't at all.

So there is some unfair shit going on on both sides I'd say. But basically Lab is right, when he says that 200 years ago women had very little in the way of rights, and what has been given to date has been just that... "given". However, there have been some pretty noteable women in the past 200 years that have certainly helped to further the cause of women's rights, no one can deny that.

Great points. I will say I hate to see females who feel the need to attempt to do jobs that should really be done by men, such as cops. I mean, physically females just are not as strong as most men.
