Aust Opposition Partyplan to block Internet porn
The Federal Opposition has outlined a plan to block Internet pornography reaching home computers.
Opposition Leader Kim Beazley says a Labor government would introduce laws requiring Internet service providers to offer a "clean feed" without pornographic and violent sites. Mr Beazley says Australian parents do not want their children to be exposed to such material. "Block it at the point of the provider as opposed to the point of the parent and if that particular household wants to opt into the pornographic sites then they make an active decision to do so," he said. "Parents want their kids learning on the net, not exposed to pornography and violence. "The reality is ... only about a third of the parents put some sort of blocker in relation to the sites on their home computers, it's too hard for most of them but if you did it at the level of the provider, probably very few people would opt in." http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems...3/s1596925.htm |

filters or no filters, the kids that do want to see it will see it. If a parent is too lazy to click a few buttons or to EDUCATE and SUPERVISE their children, fuck, they need to be beaten. |

i can just see it now , ring up to change isps " will that be porn or no porn sir"
this proposal was brought up by one of the minor parties in parliment , the other year "the family group aka bible bashers group" got a few members into parliment by spewing all this family aka bible bashing shit , one of the things they were running was a porn filtering system at the pipes that feed into us , that would cost around $40million to implement a realy bit bullshit , no kid that i know of goes to porn sites to buy content , i mean sure they might get sent links from friends to some sites , but to download porn its all P2P that they use , or from lan parties |

Pretty cool idea to protect kids and make our lives easier
I like this idea. Think about it. The people would opt in to porn. That is our buyers. No more need for softcore versus hardcore etc. We would legally provide what we do and the content would be cleaned before kids saw it. Problem solved.

The internet is a harsh place for kids.. it's like walking through kings cross on a Saturday night without a parent. It's not up to the government to control this - it's up to the slack shit parents to go out and buy a $50 filterring program and supervise their kids. |
