Wet dreams.. real or myth?

I was on another forrum and saw this question asked. Almost 100% of the respondends stated that they have never actually had a wet dream.

IMO wet dreams do not exist. I think they are the excuse kids use when their parents find stained sheets.

I saw this on Love Lines on MTV a few years back, and Dr. Drew said that wet dreams occur mostly in people who don't have alot of sex and don't jerk it often. The fluids build up in you and your body tries to purge some of them.

i remember at 13 i got the idea into my head that masturbation was wrong (catholic guilt ) so i stopped.. and lo and behold... wet dreams.. it's just the natural way to remove the excess and get some new fresh sperm in there.. i only made it cold turkey for about a month though so....

i'd say it's more the other way around.. the bodily stimulous giving you a dream. like when you need to take a piss so you dream about it.. or when you incorporate your morning alarm into the last part of your dream before it wakes you up..
you would be having an orgasm in your sleep and your dream would start to reflect that.

I don't get wet dreams too often, but I have had a few in my lifetime. It all depends on what you're dreaming about. If you're having a great sexual dream and have an orgasm, I think that the dream tricks your body into physically having one, it's kinda screwy, but it's a great feeling at the time, but waking up with a blown load in your underwear isn't the best thing in the world, ha ha ha.
