IS it Just Me OR Does It Seem Like A Shit Load Of New Affiliates Have Just Launched?

I keep seeing tons of new banners on gfy with new programs. It almost seems like a new record

I wouldn't be surprised if it was only a couple of companies with multiple programs

Maybe it's a newbie type question, but what's really the point of multiple programs? I imagine it would be for niche based programs?

Yeah...Kinda stupid if you ask me. You don't see mainstream companies like General Motors having various divisions and such. How dumb would that be?

GM lost $11 Billion last year, so maybe its not working for them.

Makes perfect sense, but some programs do it and some don't. I guess there are pros and cons to both methods. If you have a successful program full of affiliates I would imagine utilizing them to launch new sites would be quicker than growing a new affiliate base. Or some other threads suggested that some programs transfer the whole affiliate database, which doesn't seem legit.
