I used to live about 6 blocks from Churchill Downs. I always hated Darby because of the traffic around my place. Now that I'm five minutes away, I like it much better. I will be there (unless I go to Hawaii with friends the same week)Originally posted by minusonebit

My family has had box seats there since I can remember (and I'm 44). I haven't gone in years though - that side of the family no longer talks to me ;) My grandfather used to always get everyone in the box engraved silver mint julep glasses with their name and date on them. I'm sure I have several in a box somewhere It's an incredible party and if you're a female, you MUST have an incredible hat to wear!!
