interesting read - I for one face the stigma from mainstream world that like riding a motorcycle automatically makes you a gang member - working or looking at porn somehow makes you a pedo. My wifes parents and their family still refuse to have me visit for fear of their kids.

I will preface this by saying CP is abhorrent, digusting and has no place in society.
And that said: This is best summed up by asking - who is watching the watchdogs? Law & Order: SVI sometimes tackles this same sort of issue in a derivative way, addressing the inherent job burn-out of special victims detectives. Its somewhat of an oxymoron for the government to say that child pornography is 'harmful' - yet subject customs officials and other legal personnel to view it 8 hours a day. Yes, it's defendable from the notion that 'its an awful job and somebody has to do it - but what support systems are in place to help officials with the emotional effects brought on by their daily job? |
