Cheap labor or quick return?
I was wondering about this: why the hell someone would want to save a couple hundreds in a design or programming work or whatever when you'd pay a little more, say 200, 300 or even 400 bucks and get your stuff done properly and, most important, the PRO way. I mean, you'll get the so called "saved" money in less than a week and from there it's all profit
Say you get a design for $500 and make 1 sale a day at 30 bucks, and then you get a design for the "very expensive price" of $800 and make 3-4 sales a day. It will take you 3-4 days to cover the difference, now let's say you only make 1 sale over any amount made by the cheap design. 10 FUCKING DAYS TO COVER THE "SAVING" Same applies for programming, servers, copy, and some content. Content is a very different thing because it depends on too many variables, but when you've the same niche, same type of content, even same quality... look for the hotter babe no matter the price! OK, for those posting "spam me with cheap......" take this as a clue or whatever. And if you can't handle a $300-500 difference over a 10 days span... well, you know you don't belong to this business, aye? |

Work done when you say it will be & customer service is ALWAYS worth it in the end.

Just because you got cheap labor doesn't mean that you'll get a worse return.

I'm talking about those ridiculously priced services. I mean, if a site that I plan to make good dosh off it costs me less than what I spend at the pub every night, well, then something's fishy. I mean, if they were REALLY good, they'd have a low price for competition purposes and yet charge up to 100% more. Fact is they simply suck, and since they won't work very harder for 200 bucks (and believe me, there are people charging 200-300 for paysites!!!!) they won't get any valuable experience at all, just "let's-finish-this-crap-let's-buy-some-food" approach. Just to clarify, our main designer is somebody outside US, not very expensive and yet we're using his services because he is the best for us, and we've used almost all the big design companies, so it's just more about using a pro than a money issue if you like |

There is nothing wrong with getting the lowest price possible as long as you the buyer understand and know if the product will work. You seem to equate low cost with low peformance which is not always the case. As for your last paragraph. I can handle a 300-500 difference over a ten day span but why should I if I can assure myself equal performance at a lower price. That is akin to just throwing away money.

So you'd say people getting designs from Wyldesites are throwing the money? or people hosting with Jupiter or Webair? Of course I'm all for saving some money, but I get shocked when I see portfolios of people who might be great at design, but they suck horribly when it comes to make that design SELL. Of course, in mainstream you'd have a marketing pro, then an art director, then a designer, maybe a couple of copy writers and so on. When you want the designer to do everything, well, there are just a few who can handle it. And they CAN charge more. Why? Because they'll get work ANYWAY. Or you think designers, programmers and such charge less because they feel generous?
