Hey everyone,

How have you been?

I'm interested in the hentai business - I really love that stuff. I started producing hentai content and FINALLY my first set is getting painted. I guess I didn't plan much though, so I wanted to talk to you people that work with hentai about the Hentai market.

I would like to know, or at least have an estimate number on a couple things:

1) How many adult hentai webmasters are there? How many Gallery makers and Freesite Makers who use LICENCED content?

2) What percentage of hentai webmasters do it as a business and how many of these pay for the licenses of the content they use?

3) How many hentai paysites/companies are there roughly?

Sorry for so many questions, I am just curious about a market that I want to be part of my business for the long term.

Thought about a price, yet? What's your turn around time for a set of content? Do you produce it all yourself or do you hire out for ink and paint? Is it produced entirely by hand or a combination of traditional and modern art media? What rights do you plan on selling with your art? Is it all original? or are your works derivative?

Anyway, I would love to see your stuff. FYI, I'm a fan, not a buyer.

There are dozne of hentai pay site and thousands of webmasters advertising for them using a combination of stolen and licensed content. A surprising number of the pay sites also use stolen content.

Hentai is great because the girls are perfect. An artist can cater to your desire and make you the perfect girl. I bought some pretty cool manga last summer in Japan and it was really really really nice.

Occassionaly, some hentai involves children (or adults who look exactly like children) and I stay away from that stuff..

I think hentai is still a niche that has yet to be fully exploited like many other larger niches.

Personally ran some toon galleries awhile back, didn't think much about it, checked my stats yesterday, and right now am at 1:85!

and that's off of minimal traffic, guess it's time to start promoting them steadily

I've been playing with the anime/hentai market for a little over two years now, since I was able to get some -really- good listings in the engines...it's always been a huge money-maker for me.

The sponsors that have converted best for me are CashQuest's "Toon Erotica", CEN's "Hentai Playground", followed by ARS's "Just Toons".

Besides good conversions, I get a click thru rate of 2-3% and I haven't added new banners to the rotation in months. I personally don't like the stuff at all, but I like selling it just fine.

The wife loves Hentai and I find it fairly interesting but the people producing the content are for the most part not on the same planet as everyone else when it comes to pricing. When it's possible to finally by large and small amounts of content at a similar price to photos maybe....

i receive emails from artists every day
asking for $200-$300 per A3 panel

i agree it?s expensive to maintain toon/hentai site
that?s why people use scanned stuff
but once they?ve got decent number of members
they just have to offer them something new in order to keep them

it?s very specific niche
not for newbies, that?s for sure

Totally understand the cost/time involved in producing however the potential profit needs to be so much higher than normal photo stuff and although it converts well it never seems to be high enough to justify the initial outlay.
