1) The scene from Jaws where Quint (Robert Shaw) is telling the story of how his ship went down in the war and one by one the sharks ate the survivors. I was a kid when I saw this movie and even though the scene wasn't "visual" it was the scariest thing I've ever heard or seen... I love scuba diving, but I still get the chills whenever I dive!
2) Joe Pesci in Goodfellas "How am I so fucking funny???"
3) The last 20 minutes of The Terminator - the most indestructible "bad guy" in film history.
4) "Captain, my captain" from Dead Poets Society. Cheesy and contrived, but incredibly powerful
5) Michael Corleone standing outside the hospital protecting his father and noticing his hand isn't shaking - later in my life, remembering the point of this scene helped me out in a very tough situation.Comment

For me it would have to be the scene from Good Will Hunting where Robin Williams and Matt Damon are sittin' on a park bench beside a duck pond and Williams makes an amazingly poignant speech about why Damon's character knows very little about the 'real life'.Comment

the scene in Shawshank Redemption (there are many others in this movie that are great) where Andy (Tim Robbins) plays The Marriage of Figaro across the loudspeakers - very poignant momentSend & Receive Mass Global Payments - Mass P2P/Wire/EFT/SEPA - Adult Industry Friendly - Award Winning Payment Service - Fast, Reliable & Secure!

Liar Liar. The morning after his son makes the "cannot lie for a day" wish, Fletcher (Jim Carrey) wakes up in bed after a fling with his female boss.
Boss: Mmm, that was incredible! Was it good for you?
Fletcher: (turning head and smiling sincerely) "I've had better!"
The next 5 minutes are probably the funniest I've ever seen in a movie. When I saw it at the cinema the entire audience was roaring.

The wife and I watched that just a week or two ago - and yeah, that was definitely a memorable story Quint tells. If memory serves, it was based on the reallife sinking of the Indianapolis.Originally posted by Kevsh1) The scene from Jaws where Quint (Robert Shaw) is telling the story of how his ship went down in the war and one by one the sharks ate the survivors. I'd say they are both with Joe Pesci the "How am I so fucking funny?" bit from Goodfellas and when him and his brother were beaten to death in Casino.

Most scenes in goodfellas are amazing. Anyone ever notice how good the camera work is in that movie? The scene where Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco are being followed from the car into the back entrance of the restaurant, through the kitchen, all the way to the front of the stage. The table is being put in place for them all the way to the point of the comedian coming on stage without one single cut. Every extra and actor in that scene just plays their part perfect. I know I am weird I pay attention to these things.. lolComment

Schindler?s List ? The past 10 minute of the movie when Oscar Schindler realized he could have saved more Jews if he only sold his ring, car, gold Nazi lapel pin. It really placed a value on human life in. In that moment ? it made you realize all killed were people not objects.
In addition, when the Jews gave Oscar a ring made from their gold fillings, stating, ?For he who saves one ? saves the world entire.?Comment
