And even know you may know these people, are they household names? If someone did a national poll and asked if people had heard of Paris Hilton or Barbara Anthony, which one is going to get mentioned most?

There's more to being famous and having a huge household name than having money.

See, this is what I'm talking about. I'm not arguing about whether or not she deserves fame. Of course she is a celebrity and will continue to be in the spotlight. Good for her, I have no problem with that. The problem I have is when people try to convince me that she should be my idol because she is "such a success". She is not a success, she is a celebrity; there is a difference. And any time you question what she has actually accomplished herself, everyone says you're jealous and you're a hater. I'm not hating on her and I'm certainly not jealous of her, but I do believe 100% that she has done NOTHING to earn my adoration. That was my entire point; not whether or not she deserved her fame and fortune. :thumbsup

It doesn't matter if she's worth it or not. All that matters is the PR and advertising - I think that all of you should know that (being into selling stuff, etc).

On the other hand, how can you speak so lightly about her and call her names? I mean, do you know her personally? All you can see is her public image, the one that she sells all over the place. How do you know that's really her? I mean, you may like or dislike the product Paris but you don't know absolutely anything about the person Paris. But you talk as if you do and that's the funny part.

Paris makes money the usual way - by selling her image. Just like Britney Spears, just like any Hollywood star, just like Tawnee Stone or Jordan Capri.
