10 years ago today a lone gunman walked into a school

in Scotland and killed 16 kids and teachers.

It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since the Dunblane Massacre.

I still hadn't left for the States yet and was in my office at the student union in Boston when my future husband called to tell me about. He didn't have to tell me because CNN had gone big on it already.

If you never heard of it you can read about it here.

I was in a big supermarket in the UK and they turned off the background music and turned up the news on the radio - The whole place went silent and everyone stopped shopping.

I didnt realise that that new british tennis player, Adrew Murry, was there at the school - he hid with a teacher in the cupboard while all his classmates where killed. Amazing he has kept it together and done so well.

Why don't they turn off the music for the millions of people being massacred in Africa instead.

Or how about the civilians being trophy killed on the streets in Iraq by US soldiers.

ah the list goes on and on.

so some nut job killed a few people.. big deal. It's nothing compared to the big picture.

and Im sure they didnt have much news about Dumblane that day in Africa either.

If you cant see why they made a big deal out of it here in the UK then I cant be bothered explaining it. I havnt been to bed yet and Im way passed trying to educate idiots on here.

I was suppose to be in math class at my freshman in university but they cancelled it because they knew the verdict was coming and nobody would be paying attention. So, I went over to the student centre and listened to it on the tv because I couldn't see the huge tv through the mass of bodies waiting to hear. When it came across there was a massive cheer and then as it went down one person was heard to yell 'bullshit!'

Same year btw.

Wow, I didn't know that. That adds a lot to his story which is already becoming really interesting.

Well gee because it was a Birish supermarket and at that moment a British school was being attacked by a guy with a gun and very young kids were being killed. In a country where gun violence very rarely happens.

Not to mention the interest this country has taken in Africa anyway but that wasn't exactly the point on that day.

Before Dumblane we had another one in here - Hungerford.

Even in NZ we had one just up the road to me in Dunedin - he went mad and killed 16 people I think was.

They are making a film of it, but the families are really pissed off.

I remember hearing about that one. That sounded an especially scary scenario.

10 years after we are still haunted by the fear that even in school, no one is safe.

Let's try to offer a moment of silence to those killed in the incident.

We all remember when we heard the news that day. Very sad.

And yup that part that someone else posted about the tennis player Andrew Murray was true, he's lucky to be alive today...
