I would just like to say the following:
Once upon a time there was/still is a website that used to be free and open to all users. Then one day they decided to make sections of the site into a bazaar for membership subscription, and they offered up contests and adult content, and blocked regular users who did not pay from viewing that material. I was a subscriber, not because of the bazaar but because I actually supported the site. Well, a lot of us who felt the general intent of the bazaar was being compromised and in fact turning into a for profit lure to the site... decided to leave the site, and or were banned for voicing our opinions.
I never really visited the adult section of the bazaar, but I do remember seeing links pointing to this site from their paid area.
I also never saw them give this site credit for those links, nor did they publish a links in the friends list to this site.
This all ended about 2 months ago, when someone pointed out the legal issue of charging a subscription, only to point to other people's work, and or site without their permission or some form of compensation.
You may think this thread is stupid, and that I am disgruntled. I am a little disgruntled... that I will admit. There a quite a few of us that spent many years there, only to get thrown out...because the site was changing from a truly open forum, to a subscription base to keep the site alive, to a profit site that used many of others people's work to lure people in... and we discussed our displeasure, and were tossed.
This is really the only way to express myself... as the dickhead over there, just silenced us off, no thanks for the time we invested in the board, and silenced off once they started to achieve what they really set out to do.
