I've hit a deer before, and the dent was much bigger than that.

You got lucky. Plus, that is what full coverage is for, bro. Claim it and get that baby fixed

A deer often does just as much damage as a moose.

Man Headless it is time to quit driving.

Depending on what exactly is wrong I might claim it, I might not.

if it only costs couple of hundred for parts and I can do it I will. No reason to make insurance sky rocket. Ya know what I mean?

You're lucky. I know people who hit them going alittle faster than 15MPH and it damaged their cars pretty bad.

You're lucky you weren't going very fast. Back in High School, one of my coaches hit a deer with his Z-71 and it looked like he had hit a Volvo...

From damage I see to fix it correctly you are looking at 750.00 with parts and labor. I used to write estimates, and ran a bodyshop. Go get an estimate dont let the edges where the paint is broke through start to rust etc.
edit:
Well cant tell in the picture is the front edge of the hood hit at all, or is that a reflection? Also did the fender get kinked at all?

I think you are a little off.. He is going to need a new bumper and they have to blend the paint to the hood and the fenders. My shop would charge a lot more.

Just came back in from checking it out.

Header panel, headlight, grill all need to be replaced. The bumper is ok so is the fender, and hood.

No paint chipped really. I think I might just go through insurance this time. to change the header panel is going to be a bitch and a half.

Jeez. Wish my car looked like that when I hit a deer a few months back. I wiped out a 6-point buck doing like 25mph and that thing seriously fucked my shit up. Had to get a whole new front end, from the doors up. Hate to see what'd happened if I was going any faster.

Bumper cover looks fine to me. The insurance companies push for repair more often now due to new materials that are available. I fixed quite a few back in the day. ;) Looks to me like maybe a bumper reinforcement might need replaced as it looks slightly pushed back, but most of the time those will re-extend and be fine. If the hood and fender dont need paint might be less.

I almost hit a deer in my lex once. I smashed on the breaks..
Another deer comes darting out the woods and runs into the side of my drivers door and runs off.
I was like WTF. Barely noticeable dent thank god.

Id get a few of your own done. They should run from 600.00 to 1000.00 Make sure the company isnt forcing you to goto one place to get your car fixed. That is illegal. They will try to do it though. They dont do it outright, but push you in that direction. They get a kick back from the repair place and the repair place gives you a higher estimate than what they actually charge the insurance company.

Poor animal ... cars... money... THINGS... they mean shit to me. The pain that poor animal would have gone through. No matter how intelligent or unintelligent a creature like that is, it feels the same pain as a human. So can we stop giving two shits about a peice of metal that will be replaced by an insurance company? Who gives a fuck about the car!!!
