Well there are tons and tons out there. I know about 98% of all carts - commercial and free. It all depends on your needs and picking a shopping system that you can grown with if needed - new mods, feature requests, etc.
If you need any help please let me know.
X-cart turned out pretty good, the shopping system was written for me and our companies in the beginning a few years ago. Programmers were good but didn't want to sell the guys fcart.com and they went there own way and changed it to x-cart.

Cool i ran xcart for a few years on my other site.... it was very nice but it seemed to have a shitload of security issues and what not... and the php smarty templates took me some time to get used to em..
