How to make digital photos look shot on film

Let's face it, film still looks better than digital. I contantly bump into mainstream phtographers who refuse to shoot digital because it just does not look as good as film.

In the Indy film world there exists an entire software industry that tries to make video look like film.

So what can we do in photoshop to make pics look more like shot on film. I have added grain but that does not seem to do much.

Any tips?

I disagree. I think some DSLR cameras rival their comparable SLR.

To get the shot on film look, pick up a film camera. They're dirt cheap in this digital age.

You can buy a photoshop plugin called Genuine fractals that has samples of various well known film grains in it to apply to your digital shots.
