King Kong Wins 3 Academy Awards, Tied With Crash and Brokeback For Most Won
Congrats to KING KONG, an overlooked action-adventure masterpiece in my opinion.........as it should have been up for Best Picture, and congrats to Peter Jackson for again making a marvelous movie |

				 | I agree. "Great" movie. I was thinking "Best Picture" right after I saw it, but I knew those type of movies don't win Best Picture, so I'm not surprised. |

Batman Begins was pretty good, but it doesn't compare to "Batman" circa 1989 with Jack Nicholson as the Joker. That movie would have sucked without Jack though, as the sequels pretty much did. Batman Begins would have been a lot better if it had a better played and clearly defined and powerful villain. I guess they will probably make a sequel with the Joker? That will be interesting to see. King Kong was eye candy and a good remake too. The acting sucked though, of course. I liked Jack Black though. Cinematography, recreating NYC and Times Square in the 1930's done very well. At least it won the visual effects award though, it was clearly the best movie in that department. | |

				 | Mojo Risin...I think you probaly have the worst movie taste in the world. Batman 1 doesn't hold a candle to Batman Begins. Batman Begins is a character study and holds true to the crazy graphic novels that made Batman the Dark Knight. Batman 1 was entertaining..and yes Jack was in it...after they gave him the farm (practically). And King Kong was extremely boring. Best picture would have been a possibility if it was about 45 minutes shorter. Peter Jackson loves to indulge in himself. Yes...thats exactly what he is doing with those long scenery shots and pointless scenes. |

				 | Batman Begins rocked so much. It easily outdid anything Tim Burton attempted with the franchise. King Kong was a fabulous adventure, but rather overlong. They could have cut 30 minutes and released a director's cut later for the more patient fans.

				 | I think what was clear in this years awards was who votes in what categories. All the techies vote in the categories King Kong was up for and it won all of those. All the artist types vote in the categories Geisha was up for and it won all of those. I enjoyed it as a movie but I don't think it was better in writing, acting or maybe even directing than any of the best picture nominations. Especially writing. Special effects were awesome and it properly won for that. |
