is there some kind of program that takes images and makes thumbs than creates the code automatically?
We have to layout a few thousand images in a members area.

Get a CMS like sitedepth, or something custom.

imagemagick creates thumbs.... a shell script will lay them out nicely... atleast thats how I do it... I have the head as a text file that gets placed by the script and then it writes everything else out on the fly.
