Dumbass of the day!

Woke up this morning to find an email from friends of ours who hosted the 'Kinky Kabaret' this past weekend. They were contacted by one of the attendees who apparently wasn't pleased that his photos (taken at the event) appeared on their website, and asked that they be removed. I was the photographer who took the shots, and also the webmaster of her site that put them online.

On the night of the event, we posted a very large and very conspicuous "Photographers On Premises!" disclaimer sign at the front entrance of the building. You couldn't miss it - it was on the front door of the building in big black and white bold lettering.

This guy was one of the performers who did a bullwhip act with a couple of models he'd brought along. He was front and centre for much of the evening and was featured in numerous photos. He was also fully aware that I was taking the photos since I moved around him and the models during the entire act and clearly had my 'Event Photographer' tag attached to my shirt. He had every opportunity to approach me and simply say, "Can you please not publish any photos of me or my models," and I would have gladly made note of it and obliged.

Some people are awfully thick these days. What part of "Photographers On Premises!" did he fail to understand? What did he think I was doing standing there taking pictures for...my wallet? My family album?

But in the interests of making our friend who owns the website happy, we took the time this morning to remove all the photos he appeared in from the website.

hehe.. true.. it is.. though when I was reading through why someone was a dumbass I only had to get to "This guy was one of the performers" when I realized why he was LOL

I would...but unfortunately its not our event.

It wouldn't have been so bad had he just been someone in the background in a shot or two. But the clown was high profile during much of the show and turned up in quite a few of the shots. Made quite the spectacle of himself.

Perhaps if he shows up next year I'll demonstrate my own bullwhip expertise on him.

Although both my wife and I are obviously very public and open about our lifestyles and interests, I can also understand the various reasons some folks have about keeping BDSM/fetish interests out of the public eye. I've heard plenty of not-so-nice stories over the years from people who were accidentally 'outed' and suffered confrontations and problems with non-understanding friends, family and employers.

But the case with this clown was different. He was a performer at the fetish show...where he was fully informed and aware there'd be cameras present. He ended up in at least two dozen shots during the evening - pics we can no longer use on the website.

shouldnt it be the other way around? You have to ask if you can take pictures.

Private property, private event, you're an approved agent of the club, tell the dude to go fuck himself...
