          ... and it will be obsolete within 6 months... in a year or two everyone will be laughing at 500Gb drives.

                Yeah, but 16 of them will hold a hell of a lot more in 2 years time. I remember a story from the early-mid 90s about a radio station moving to an all digital format, using a couple of racks filled with hard drives. The total capacity was something like 10 gigabytes.
