rofl, do you really believe this and if so, don't you think we have the internet on tape backup somewhere. If it does go down, don't panic, the net could just be rebooting.

If a virus was capable of bringing down the majority of major networks.. the internet would effectively be "taken down"

bhutocracy, whats up man! I am going to start a thread next Sunday on our debate. I have to "touch up" on some research first

Theoretically, the internet cannot be "shutdown" but the shit can get so fucked up that it is almost usless.

It would suck balls to even have this crapped slowed down even 1%. I might would have to get a real job, or call Dr Kivorkian.

These recent posts about China got me to thinking...

Why did it take this long for China to figure out how to make bootleg copies of Sony Vaio's?

They bootleg everything else within a week so why are they all just now getting computers?

Aren't half the parts made in Taiwan anyway?

I'm really surprised they haven't been able to completely destroy our networks already. It seems like something they would be trying to do.

Did you read the entire article?
Read this:

"It is not the Chinese government's policy to disrupt the computer system of any other country," said Larry Wu, an official in the embassy's science and technology section.

"We do research on the security of computers, of course--self-defense to understand how a hacker can get into our computer systems so we can defend it," he said. "But China has never assumed an offensive stance with regards to computer technology."

China is working on a new method of doing damage much like Russians have the meanest Biological warefare labs in the world - but they don't infect people.
France tested their nuclear bombs awhile back but didn't nuke anyone right?
America is building new shit everyday for their military and I'm sure they already have a "hackers warfare unit".

Just because China is making advances to their countries strength, it does not mean they plan to start wars.

Name 1 country not advancing their own strength?

And who honestly thinks America does not have a similar team of computer hackers who could damage computer systems world-wide?

America should allow China to take back taiwan, then become friends & do business.
Stupid if the 2 largest powers are always bickering.
Taiwan will always keep friendship between America & China far apart.
