Mercedes-Benz E500 - buy or not?

Anybody has an E500 or E350 - 2003 and up? I'm thinking about buying one, but I want to hear from those who have one and from those who wanted one, but decided to go with another choice.

Is the difference in engine for E500 big enough to spend extra $$$?

I am getting ready to trade in my M3 and have narrowed my next daily driver down to either the E500 or the Audi A6 Quattro.
I have liked the M3,but really need 4 doors for my *work* car.
I am going to be driving both in the next few weeks, before I make the final decision.

Depends on what kind of person you are; for me, the answer is absolutely yes, spend the extra money and get the bigger engine in the 500.

I have to actually like the looks of the cars I drive. The entire line of Bangle designs are ridiculous imo.
Even the M5 ,which I really would've gone with is ugly when you see it in person.

Everybody likes the stronger engine, but I drove S430 and S50 and there is not much difference. So, before I spend an extra $10K on the better engine - I want to make sure it's worth it.

I got that whole 2257 thing under control. I was just curious about the details of the case in my other thread, but no one seems to be able to give me a comprehensive reply. Oh, well.

Hit me up about your M3. 317-160-390. How much are you getting for the trade in?

I haven't talked numbers yet with the dealer. There is about a 14k difference between the MB and the Audi, and the final trade-in value will be determined on which car I go with.I'll bookmark this thread and get back to you after I have a solid number. My M3 is an 03smg w/33k on it.I bought it new. It's my daily driver..no issues.

Thanks Minte. Ive been looking around recently for a M3. Depending on what they decide the trade in value is, Ill give you a bit more or figure out how to make it worth while for your effort.

I have a lawyer and I pay him monthly as legal issues come up all the time. He's one of the best in the area. However, I'd rather get the scoop from other webmasters than him. Because it also gives me the sense of how worried other webmasters are and what are the non-legal thoughts they may have about the issue. Does this make sense?

Wait for the 2007 Lexus LS460L

Watch the video http://mfile.akamai.com/8065/wmv/toy..._reveal_Hi.asx

if that doesn't work go here and check it out
http://www.lexus.com/2007ls_preview/?s_ocid=20460

Badest ass luxury vehicle to hit the road ... WAIT til fall

This fall, the all-new 2007 LS 460 will completely redefine luxury the world over. Take off with a 380 horsepower [1], 4.6-liter direct-injection V8 and the world's first eight-speed automatic transmission, launching you from 0-60 MPH in less than 5.5 seconds [1]. There's also an available Lexus voice-activated HDD Navigation System [2] with Bluetooth® [3] technology (standard on LS 460L). Inside is genuine wood trim, supple leather trim and the resonant 19-speaker Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound System [4] (available on LS 460 and 460L). An 8-gigabyte audio server is available. Another first for Lexus will be the availability of the LS in both a standard- and long-wheelbase (LS 460L) model. For rear passengers of the 460L, available amenities include a center console table, climate-comfort seats and a rear-seat massager (right rear seat only). A Premium Four-Passenger Seat package with Rear-Seat Entertainment DVD System is available for the long-wheelbase model (LS 460L). The new LS-luxury that knows no borders.

Dude, it's ok that you're wrong - you don't have to be right for me to still love and respect you!

You know I already own the Lexus LS430 ... i might have to trade it in, upgrade to the LS460L, get a driver and chill in the reclining/massaging rear right passenger seat

I'll let you sit back there when you make it to LA some day!

LOL

I live in Europe. In my country you 'll find many more Mercedes and BMW than any other country in Europe. My suggestion is to avoid European cars, even Mercedes. The only european brand you can trust is SAAB.
Japanese cars are much better.WITHOUT PROBLEMS. Need only gasoline.

E series? The only sedan that's hot in the current Benz lineup is the CLS. The price difference isn't noticeable on a lease.

I am going to be driving both in the next few weeks, before I make the final decision.

Go for the A6 man. Not so many of them out there. Brand new model. Built quality is great and engines are great.

If you are going for a Benz ... go for the CLS man. It's much cooler than the E class.

E-class is an amazing car. Noone buys there here though, since all cabs are E-classes, no matter if youre driving a 200 or 500, they all think you got a 400k miles taxi for 10k

The e-class is one of those that does everything well and nothing exceptionally, unless you move way up market to the e500 and e55.

As a former Benz owner and a huge Mercedes Benz fan I can attest to the fact there are few better feelings than Mercedes benz driving and ownership.

However, there are costs. While re-sale is strong you will lose money, lots of it. First year drop off on the larger Benzes is huge. Safety is the ultimate factor that few people buy for. A Mercedes will keep you safe when other cars won't.

The eClass is beautiful, safe, presitigious, classy.

That's my $0.02.

Wouldn't buy an Audi if I had to walk. Overpriced piece of German junk.

Hey Bud,

I just bought a Mercedez - Benz E350 and it is awesome. Shows class and sophistication and has been faster off the line than almost all the cars on the road since I purchased it.
I got a 2006 though and they have the upgraded engines, a 268 HP V6 as apposed to the 200Hp they were sporting before.
By HP they are the fastest engine by comparison to the Audi A6 and Bmw 330.
The E500 from the E350 is a big step up because of Engine sizes, but this one kicks ass as it is. If anything I would go up to the S class rathe than getting the small extra Horse power you get from going from the 350 to the 500.

Right now I love the 350 and wouldn't have changed it for the world.

Make sure you get the premium package with the Navigation and upgraded sound. It's a world of difference.
