Flat out the cops are pissy, over worked, under-paid with some getting only partial checks, their houses are gone and now thier living quaters are moving out to sea (the cruise ships), im sure a big ass party with drunk assholes all over the place is the LAST thing they wanna deal with after Hurricane Katrina paid them a visit. Cops arent robots and stress believe it or not DOES affect them, especially after a hurrican roars through and next thing u know u got bodies floating by yer feet AND yer having to stop criminals from taking advantage of the situation AND having to guard yer own police department from a militia take-over with bullets flying everything, the brink of Anarchy they had to fight off.

Persoanlly shame on the city for having the mardi gras and putting more of a work load on those officers, they should have waited till at least next year and have one big SUPER HUGE ASS MARDI GRAS to make up. But then again, this does bring $$$ in, which was much needed, but those cops need the $$ too and some time-off.

bullshit. it's their fucking job. no one forced them to join the police. and no one's keeping them in the force.

In fact, to kill or injure a lawenforcment animal is the same as killing a cop in most states. They dont want the animals touched for a reason.

I think that guy slapped the horses ass or something. It was more than a pet for sure. The Ybor City horse cops are usually pretty nice.

New Orleans cops have always been uptight assholes... I'm sure they put up with a lot of shit but they still are the worse I have ever encountered.

Actually, the reason most of them are probably staying on the force is because they have years of service and they are HOPING NOLA will have enough to cover their pensions so they can retire when their time is up. I'm sure most wanted to quit during the hurricane but with wives and families to support, it's not as easy as walking out the door, moving the family and getting a job at McD's.

Police and teachers are some of the most underpaid and underappreciated jobs out there and we'd all be in hell if they both disappeared.

IT'S A FUCKING HORSE

What part of its a giant horse & people are drunk don't you get?

Anything with fucking fur on it is going to get pet.

It sounds like they hired on abunch of texas cops who's idea of a good night is fucking with people.

And you know what, they can get away with fucking with people 24-7, do whatever the fuck they want....right up until they fuck with the wrong person one night at 3am carrying a .45, then karma sets the world straight again.

what he said! Indeed, get it all on tape and send it to the news, then get an attorney and sue them for police brutality or whatever you can come up with.
