hmm what use is it to put 2 nameservers in one netblock? Ok
redundancy if the machine goes down...but what if network
goes down?

Better use 2 nameservers that are in different networks. Just
my 2 cents

Or better yet, two on the same network (so local traffic doesn't have to travel outside the network should the primary go down) and a third on a separate network.

I see nothing wrong with multiple nameservers on the same network, I just wish they are in different netblocks just in case some clueless ISP (or desperate competitor) decides to 'leak' one of your ranges via BGP to their non-filtering upstream.

Boom, you now have a netblock that's unusable until that person or their upstream straightens out the problem, but there's also nothing wrong with plunking down $300/month to diversify your DNS setup across other colocation facilities as well as your own, plus boom, you now have a new machine outside of your network that can test your machines and give you external results, but don't get all greedy and start hosting on it, then it's no longer a DNS/monitoring server...

FYI, My ICQ broke, and now I use Trillian, everytime my computer goes on standby, it puts me on away when I leave my computer for a few minutes and the screen saver kicks in. I forget that the Trillian put me on away, and so I am really their, but it says away. I am going to fix that right now. I'll just turned the screen saver off.

As for the name servers, yes I do agree adding additional an additional name server to another block of IPs would be a good idea. As for adding name servers to different location, it would not help us out very much. The only way it would really benefit us or our customers is if we added a mirror of every server we have to another location as well. See, if our network actually went down, a name server that still works in another place would be useless, unless it had mirrors of all our equipment with it.

So thanks for the suggestion, but for now what we have works great, we have not had any downtime since December and that works for our company and our customers.
