user LB-69 is spamming.....

just got this email....

Subject: regarding your post on GFY

"Hello,

Check this new shemale site which rocks with 1:90 convertion. Lot's of FHG's and promo materials.

My referal link is here: http://www.lb96.com

Hope you'll like it."

So, big surprise I havent posted anything remotely on the subject or asking for sites.

also, its not an affiliate spamming - lb96.com loads a lb-96.com in a frame with no affiliate code. It was sent to a gmail address and shows up in the "to:" field with someone elses email address from the same server.

Now call me crazy, but since its for a site lb-96, there is no affiliate code on the page the forwarded link goes to and there is a user named lb-96 who runs that site and is on this board, mentioning GFY in the subject field - I think its fair to say he or she is spamming, not to mention using GFY brand name in the proccess.

somehow Im guessing this is a ban-able offense.... has anyone else got similar spam? I think I need to get a new email program

Surely GFY is not letting European Lee do any work for them (like someone else did).

lb-69 is a ccbill/paycom site. So you wouldn't see the affilite code as it does a redirect thru ccbill/paycom and uses cookies etc.

Ever post that gmail address here? Wouldn't be hard to harvest email addresses off of GFY.

They don't
I have a random number on the emails I use like programname(random#)@mydomain.com and I still got a lot of mails.

I also only get spam to the emails I actually used, I don't get to [email protected]

Either programs are selling or more likely their security suck bigtime.

I'm not sure what happened in this case but I've dealt with the guys from lb.69 and they are a good bunch of guys. I'm sure once they see this they will look into things and find out what happened and take care of whomever mailed this to you.

Given the opportunity I'm sure it will be handled immediately.

Ok, I will try to explain now what happened based on the facts I got from my sales manager:

The mailing was done by one of our affiliates (Probably he was planning to get some cash from referring webmasters through CCbill getting 10% of sales
which we pay for reffered affiliate: http://lb-69.com/webmasters.php?code...billing=ccbill) without actually me or anyone else from the team knowing about that. The domain lb96.com is not belongs or connected to our site in any way. We got abuses from the hosting company and many webmasters regarding this mailing and was busy cleaning this mess up the whole day, that why this explanatory came a bit late.

What we have done by now:

1. We have suspended the affiliate due to TOS violation.
2. We trying to allocate and close down his hosting, the problem is he using non static IP that changing all the time.

Once again we want to state that LB-69 and Cyber Entrentaiment LTD strongly condemn any illegal activity including spam, have nothing to
do with this mailing and deeply appologize to all the webmastes affected in this case. Your additional suggestions/comments regarding dealing with this case is appreciated.

Its pretty easy to do a mail spamming program, just to filter out the domain addresses here at GFY and then use "webmaster", "mail", "support" or anything similar as recipient....maybe this guy did so...
