The problem is she had my step-dad call. I live in Houston and she is in Chicago. Dinner was not possible this year.

She bought cards for her kids, but then thought she should also get presents & just ran out of time to get them in the mail before the big day. So back in the drawer for next year. It's easy to let dates slip your mind.
