Bush says NO to Iraq withdrawal - GoFuckYourself.com

President Bush stated yesterday that he would not pull out of Iraq as long as he?s in power. His term in office ends January 2009. Bush said the end of United States military presence will be for ?future presidents? to decide. So the fate of all the young men and women in uniform (American and coalition) and the Iraqi people has been sealed for another 3 years under this administration. And for what, you ask? Well, let?s take a look?

The second invasion of Iraq began on March 19, 2003. And according to President Bush, here are the reasons why?
1) Root out and eliminate dictator Saddam Hussein and his cronies (terrorists)

2) Make the world a safer place by uncovering Hussein?s vast store of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs)

3) Liberate the people of Iraq and help them create a democratic system

4) Secure the oil fields and infrastructure to help maintain the flow of oil to Western markets

Let?s take these one at a time?

1) Saddam Hussein was captured and is currently on trial for his life. His two sons were hunted down and killed. The flow of cash and protection that Saddam was giving to any suspected terrorists was subsequently eliminated. Summary?task accomplished.

2) Even though it had been reported Saddam Hussein had vast quantities of WMDs, not one single weapon was ever found. No serin gas, radioactive material, anthrax powder?. nothing. The main pretext for the invasion, as President Bush and his administration hammered home night after night on North American television, was to find and destroy these weapons to make the United States and the world a safer place to live in.
Summary? Bush misled the public to make them believe the invasion was necessary.

3) It?s been four months since Iraq held parlimentary elections and there has been a bitter stalement between the majority Shiites and the minority Sunni Muslim factions. Outright civil war is a distinct possibility to see which group inherits the post left vacant by the jailed Hussein. Without a massive American troop presence in Iraq to maintain stability it would seem democracy will not take root at this point in time.
Summary? either get in big time or get out. President Bush assumed that by getting rid of Hussein he would start the ball rolling towards democracy. But what he has done is set the country on fire with the Iraqi people fighting each other and American troops left holding the bag.

4) It?s estimated that Iraq has in excess of 112 billion barrels of proven reserves and a possible 220 billion barrels of undiscovered oil. If these figues are correct, Iraq would account for 25% of all the world?s oil.
Summary? One of the first objectives the military was given was to secure the oil fields and this was accomplished. However it has been impossible to protect all the pipelines which have been under attack since the start of the war. Therefore the overall infrastructure is not secure.

2,319 Americans have been killed in Iraq since the start of the war. Another 17,004 have been injured. The Iraqi civilian death count is estimated somewhere between 33,000 and 38,000.

And we have another 3 years to go?

Anyone that thinks the US is going to pull out any time soon is an idiot.. There's no way the US can leave.. Look at it this way.. They haven't left Afghanistan yet and since it's getting worse there, they won't be leaving any time soon. That place was supposed to be easier than Iraq and the US has been there longer than Iraq.

Regardless of whether it was right to go or not, the US is stuck there for years to come so get used to it.

Im not so dumb. That listing cost me a few bucks, and its driving traffic to that domain that is parked on sedo.com making ppc money. I bought it 5 or 6 months ago and planned on doing something with it, I dont have time to do it. It is worth at least 2k to the right buyer. If it doesnt get bought then Ill call around to the larger local car dealers and try and sell it.

Btw I goto Japan at least once a year. My passport is quite full too, its not that big of an accomplishment.

There's no way the US can leave.. Look at it this way.. They haven't left Afghanistan yet and since it's getting worse there, they won't be leaving any time soon. That place was supposed to be easier than Iraq and the US has been there longer than Iraq. Regardless of whether it was right to go or not, the US is stuck there for years to come so get used to it.
