NATs tracking looking weird

Hey everyone,
I saw something strange today and did some investigation. The strange thing was that I got sale from someone else's account. And seems this is not the first time. Here is an example

My NATs code MzAwMjozOjE
NATs code from the site that made the sale MzAwNzozOjE (not my site)

Here they are decoded
3002:3:1 (mine)
3007:3:1 (the other)

Well, I should be happy probably because i sent no hits to this site at all and i got a sale

But probably this exactly thing happens to my traffic that I am sending to programs using NATs. That means that I am losing money.

For now I will not share the program name with you because i have not contacted them yet. Also i found i got other 5 sales that i did not work for in other programs. So the program name should not be that important, this error seems to happen in many programs.

Anyone seen this before? Did it happen to me only

Did you use campaigns for any of your links? Because using campaigns changes your NATS code.

Do you see those in referrer stats? If that is the case, then its because this simply shows that before you sent the surfer to the site, someone else did. You still get the sale since you sent him last but you see the first referrer.

If you see the nats code somewhere else (although I can absolutely not imagine you do), let me know.

Nope, I did not use anything. I did not send any traffic to this sponsor at all. Just joined the program some time ago and did not start promoting yet.

And i got a sale LOL

Yes, I saw the referral stats. I checked the sites that sent traffic to my account. And WOW, not my sites. I checked the sites and found that my link codes are not there.

And again, I did not send any traffic to this program yet. And all the traffic is coming from somewhere else, not my sites. Ratio is 1:179 and i get a hit or 2 every day.

I wanted to start using this sponsor so i logged in my account there first time since 2-3 months. And WOW, yesterday i made a sale...

Not fgood at all!

Maybe someone screwed up some of their links with your code. There are a lot of possibilities, please contact Fabian with some info so he can look.

Now... lets examine this a bit.

You DID NOT contact the sponsor.

You DID NOT contact us.

You DID create an account on GFY specifically to post this thread and bitch.

Thats a very odd way of going about things.

Again, please contact Fabian so he can actually look into the problem rather than just continuing to post shit on GFY under your new and/or anonymous nickname.

You don't have time to ICQ him some info to get the actual problem looked at but you have plenty of time to make 6 posts on GFY about a "problem" without contacting either us or the sponsor program to get it looked into.

Thats a great reason.

It's fairly common to see referers from other sites in yours for sale as Fabian pointed out. The first affilaite sends a hit, the referer gets recorded and surfer is cookied. Then the second affiliate can send the same surfer where no referer is present for some reason and the sale will be credited to the most recent affiliate to send the surfer (commonly agreed upon) but the only referer info is from the first hit and it is shown. That's not miscredited sales.

Again tho, thats a great reason to not report a problem. This industry really gets me some times.

hmmmm,
i did not expect this really. i was going to contact you on icq, even though i really don't have time for that now. but i see some offense here...

it is not my job to find and report your shit, it is your fucking job. well, i tried to share it and may be help, but i don't feel like i should ...

i will contact the sponsor and will ask for explanation and that's it (or may be not, i would not lose that money). or may be i should email the guy that made me a sale? hehe

........

After i did not send any traffic to that sponsor i don't see how this could happen (according to your explanation). Also even if everything is how you said, I don't see a reason to have wrong referral stats, they become useless if there will be someone else's URLs there.

I see you are not happy with this thread, and you should not be. But this does not mean you should be arrogant and try make me a fool. I did not say anything without a reason.

I will stop posting in this thread, I hope you do that too. It is useless as you point me with a finger just like it was my fault that i got wrong stats.

Well, I wish you good luck and hope it was just me you treated like that.

That was a tad rude for ( a first response ) responding to someone who is trying to help YOU. all it could do is hurt him by reporting it.. ( lost mystery sales ). You should be thanking the guy and asking him to report any unusual finding to you personally to get them fixed faster..

As NATS users, I would say your response is arrogant, and stupid. You might contact HIM in stead? Jeez

I have no problem with him having a gripe or a complaint.

My problem was him not contacting us or the sponsor. Instead he spent the time creating an account and making a thread.

It wasn't our first reply to him. Fabian replied twice.

He couldn't be bothererd to spend 30 seconds to contact us when we provided him contact info (which he provided none of so I don't see how we could contact him) but he can spend the time joining GFY and making more posts in the thread.

This place is becoming more and more full of trolls. They waste everyones time. That is what annoys me. Not him having a problem with something.

I thought the guy said he never sent traffic to this sponsor.
So the problem is other here.

Also it does not make sense to have wrong URLs in your referral stats, they become useless...
