None of the logos entered met the groups aproval.

I will however give $100 as a prize for one entry.

I will be back in a few hours to announce that winner.

And who is going to do additionally work doing a full CIP without any feedback on their logo?

If I hadn?t posted (days back) about giving some feedback about the current designs, no one would have any idea which direction you wanted to go. After that you responded and told everyone ?A loft can't really be pictured so we are looking for creative fonts and plays with the word itself?, and then most people changed their direction to this. If I hadn?t asked and you had not posted this everyone would have kept submitting designs for no reason.

Tell people some idea of what you are looking for instead of just saying ?thanks for your entry?!

I just think it is not right to have no winner after all the time and hard work these designers but into this contest!

:2 cents: :2 cents:

you are very right dude...i believe there should be a BIG WINNER on this contest. lots of great logos here.

Platinumpimp 03-02-2006 09:39 AM

WOW A $100 logo contest all of a sudden. :Oh crap

Did you read the rules? Did you follow them? You played, you lost, end of story. No one put a gun to your head to submit an entry and the rules were clear.

Hey DamageX :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY

I was not talking about me, i posted a draft of a design idea at the very begining and then decided not to finish it because of the way the contest was going, i was not even in the running for anything ever so Shut the Fuck up!!

I was stating my opinion that it is not fair to the other designers who spent alot of time in hopes of winning the contest!

DID THEY READ THE FUCKING RULES? If they did and decided to post their entry, then I don't see WTF you or anyone else would be bitching about. THE RULES WERE CLEAR.

John69 03-02-2006 11:26 AM

the title should have read $100.00 logo contest.

Why? It was a $2500 contest, for a logo and a CIP. The rules CLEARLY stated that the winning contribution should be picked AND used, to be eligible for the prize money. It's not Shuki's fault that designers can't read.

suicidemessiah 03-02-2006 05:26 PM

might as well post my entry

here this is for you and Shuki:

Title - win $2,500----Lofts.com----Logo and CIP Design Contest---Win $2,500

dictionary entry: CONTEST

contest

n 1: an occasion on which a winner is selected from among two or more contestants

Sorry but you do not have a contest and not pick a winner

:2 cents:

Fake contests like this that waste the time of all designers is a prime example of the reason why alternative websites like adultdesigncontest.com have chosen to use a prize escrow - so no one gets screwed in the end.

By the definition of contest - a winner should be selected here and the prize given out. Anything less is welching, plain & simple.

I feel sorry for all the designers in this thread who apparently have wasted their time on this. There were some very excellent design submissions by a number of individuals - many quite worthy of the prize offered. A $100 booby prize is an insult and a slap in the face.

Staging fake contests not only wastes everyone's time and efforts, it also discourages participation in future contests here on GFY.

We're not philanthropists.

I'm not affiliated with Adult Design Contest nor do I receive any benefit for endorsing them - but they're definitely a superior solution to disappointing threads such as this.

LOL the contest jumps from $2500 to $100

What a shame. I saw a lot of good entries here..

Sorry if that is harsh but the quality of entries just did not stand up to what we are looking for.

If none of the entries were what you were looking for (which I find difficult to imagine to start with) - then that's the gamble you take when initiating the contest from the beginning. Just like designers take a gamble with their time and effort when creating and submitting designs and concepts.

You called this a "CONTEST" in the very first post. A contest must have a winner that is awarded the prize. As per the title of the thread:

"Win $2,500---LOFTS.com---logo and cip contest---Win $2,500"

The promise in the title was the contest had a $2,500 prize. Anything less is a deceptive misrepresentation. By the sound of things, a lot of designers submitted entires based on that promise. Spinning it with the ambiguous clause "if we pick one" thus renders the contest thread title false.

I avoided submitting to this contest because like a few others I saw the direction it was heading, and I'm not totally surprised its apparently ended the way it has.

Based on the fine entries I've seen, I'd have been able to select a suitable design if the shoe were on the other foot.

I may be wrong, and I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if proved otherwise...but I strongly suspect there never was a $2,500 to be won. On behalf of my fellow designers - do the honorable thing...award a prize - and force me to admit I'm wrong.

Ok, then if your partners are not fully happy with any logos on here then no one wins at all?

Just trying to understand, becase why do all this work for something that may not even be guaranteed to have a winner from here at all.

:helpme :helpme

this is post #19 which is left unanswered

sorry designers but the outcome of this thread is already forecasted
this is posted before any entries were submitted.

keep your 100 bucks it's all yours :jerkoff

Shuki, this is the reason why i mentioned you shoul post your contest there.
You would get 2x as many entries, and a better relationship with many of the designers who participated, rather then pissing them off.

There would not be miss-understandings should the contest be held there, regardless of the size of prize money offered.
