I just typed www.amctheater.com and got a casino popup and some nonsense SE.

Wouldn't you thik AMC could easily aquire that domain? They do own www.amctheaters.com

Just suprised they don't own that domain.

My guess would be that it depends on whether the name and site is in any way copyrighted/trademarked

I dont think so, unless they are trying to pose as amc and are costing them money by confusing people and taking sales.
