I have two gals on thehun main page.

One got listed 24hrs ago the other just got listed a few hrs ago.

I got 123,000hits from him so far.

in the old days, if i had a strike out day, i would get one of my friends to sign up to make sure the system was working ;)

I lost enough profit today thanks.. lol

Do you submit galleries to thehun everyday?

Honestly I dont think I am going to submit there anymore. The amount of bandwidth he burned I would need to make good sales to break even.

I get about the same traffic to my gals as you and I send minimum of 12K per day to various sponsors. Even at that I don't think thats enough.

You are not seeing the problem in the right perspective.

If a TGP accepts public submissions, even a small TGP will quickly get 500+ submissions a day. Maybe 40% of those galleries will be good enough, if not to actually encourage surfers to visit the TGP again, at least not deter them (maybe 10% have a real chance to earn some money, but that isn't the TGP operator's problem).

Review all of them - 4 hours work for even the most cursory review - and that leaves the TGP with 200 galleries a day, of which as few as 30 may actually be needed. A huge waste of time and even a nominal charge will slash those submissions.

Of course submission fees don't stop all cheaters, but they are extremely effective at getting rid of the majority of time wasters and all but the small number of cheats who take their business seriously. The TGP operator makes some extra cash, reduces his workload considerably, and cleans up his site: not a bad result from one simple measure.

That said, many TGP's are just taking the p*ss and practises such as charging submitters simply to be reviewed is lousy ethics at best. In most normal industries, potential customers would stay away in droves and working like that would be a quick way to get bitten in the ass. But this is online porn, where bandwagons substitute for professional judgement and there is always another flock of sheep...

The CTR should be higher, but I think a lot of folks have experienced 3000 CT's and no sales when sent to a mismatched or shaving sponsor.

the CTR should be much higher, however galleries with very low CTR usually tend to show better sponsor ratios anyway, so 0:3k on 0.5% CTR is still very suspicious IMO... it's like 0:15k for a 2.5% CTR gallery; the most motivated buyers will find the link regardless of the design. Dunno if he's sending to just one sponsor or what but I'd check out their tour pages very carefully...

I am a TGP operator so I understand fully about the cost of reviewing all those galleries etc. Better software can help a LOT with reducing the cheaters and even the crap gallery submissions. But that software doesn't exist for the vast majority of TGP operators. If you're a huge stable site that has a shit load of inbound links already, then going to paid partner accounts can be a good idea (although if your that big your probably hiring cheap labor to build your own galleries on other domains as well). But cutting back on all those "free" inbound links when you're not a huge site or established, is just folly in my opinion. In fact, the truly smart operator will think of ways to maximize all those recip links.

I have had many galleries listed on the Hun, if it's not brand new content, most likely you wont get one sale, as those bookmarkers have allready bought a membership, if it's been done before your flushing your $$$ down the toilet.
