My gf is looking into augmentation (slight increase), and alongside all her research, was wanting to know about some other first hand experiences. As we're all aware, some of the ladies here have great jobs done - would you mind taking 5 mins out to go through how you determined your surgeon, implant material, experiences etc etc etc?

yeah it was naughty allie's boobies that got me back in to the surgeon last year in fact! she has PHENOMENAL TITS! *blush*

you all have seen my boobies before, and if you search my name i'll sure you'll find them again. i'll give you a little "technical" info though. my implants are partially below the muscle (you'll find most docs go below the muscle unless you have a lot of extra skin/breast mass to conceal the implant), they're 600cc McGhan Style 20 silicone high profile, smooth implants, inserted through the periareolar incision site (nipple).

***SOAPBOX*** for all women considering implants, please understand that your breasts will *still be* your breasts, ONLY larger. please don't expect miracle cures, or for your boobs to magically look like someone else's. implants only exxagerate what you currently have. so just like i looked at allie's boobs and LOVE them, i don't have boobs that look like hers now, even though i was aiming for close to that. i have my version, because the surgeon had my body to work with. i think it's important for women to be realistic about their surgery expectations so as to avoid many redo's or just serious dissatisfaction/depression about a big body image change they made.

I think I'm going to get some boobs after I lose most of my weight. I already have kinda smallish tits for my frame, and I'm losing some of them as I lose weight, so I want to get back to where I was when I was breastfeeding...those were some freaking awesome boobs. I wish I had thought to take pics, lol.

i have had two different surgeons and i'll say the first one was the best in town, best reputation, nicest office, most expensive, board certified in plastic surgery specifically, etc. but he didn't listen to me, and i ended up in lawyer battles just trying to get him to see me after he'd done my breast augmentation to discuss my concerns. my second doctor had a pretty tacky office, and was the cheapest on my list of consults and was only board certified in surgery - but he listened to me, and he heard me, understood my needs/wants and spit them back out at me in a language i understood. i think *the* most important factor in choosing a doctor is making sure that it's one you get along with and your personalities match. if you're the type of person that needs a lot of follow up care, wants a doctor you can call after your procedure with any questions/concerns - ask if you can call/email the doctor during your consult or over the phone before making an appointment. that usually gives you a good idea of how available that doc is to his/her patients.
