Nonlinear Programming and Optimization, dealing with convex sets, optimality criteria, iterative methods and constrained optimizations was absolutely murder. The one course I failed in my senior year, final semester. I even tried bribbing the professor $5000 to just bump me up 4%. Still failed me.

I dropped out of college and I never got to take Calculus, but college Geography was really hard for me, I had to drop out of that class.
I had to pick a non-lab science class and I thought geography would be easy, cause it's just learning about the earth, I thought how hard would it be? But it was really hard, I'm not good with science, I could not understand most of the concepts in there! For example we would learn about the ocean currents, like all the different ones, like westerlies, doldrums, easterlies or whatever, but the teacher wanted us to know what order it was in too, and it wasn't even in the book. I can't really explain it, but I HATE science and I didn't get any of it. And there were sooo many ocean currents it was all diffrent and confusing. And the first day I guess we learned about basic stuff, like about temperatures, and how you're supposed to tell where it's hot and cold on the earth and the equinox and the earth's rotation vs the sun and some other stuff, and I was already confused on the first day. I couldn't take it anymore I had to drop out. I couldn't stand that class. Oh and there was other stuff like coriolis effect and other stuff... I swore half the class dropped out. I'm not into science at all so it was hard for me. |

I had a rough time with advanced statistics. I had to drop out coz I always miss the class. I was a working student back then. When I took the subject again, I had the same professor, but I passed the subject.

Microecon . My prof was some asshole who won the nobel prize in 60 something, and just loved to fail everyone. He knew he wasnt going to get fired, so he just passed like 1 person a class. Total dickhead. If you didn't do things his way, he would fail you.

If tough means difficult yet challenging for you then I'd choose Trigonometry, and college Algebra. I'm not really good with the subjects but I find them very challenging-intellectually stimulating as what others are saying.

The professors are crucial...the last one I took ended up being really helpful and spoke English

Working Capital Management - that class was a bitch. It was a finance elective I was required to take for my finance major. It seemed pretty easy, until the test came.. no matter how hard I studied - i always got a high 70 or low 80 on it. Most of my other classes were straightforward and basic, u put the time in, you got a good grade, except for this class.

I see a lot of people have difficulties depending on the professor. I discovered
this site http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/index.jsp they have reviews for almost every single professor in America. You can see if their hard or easy, speak good english or not, how they grade and much more. If I were to go back to school I would never pick a professor blindly again without reading reviews first. That site is kinda popular, a lot of the teachers I had are in there and have reviews. its free too, just select ur state and go from there |

Barely make it through Trigonometry in college (no, i didn't take it in hs, long story) --- I flunked it 3 times before squeaking by with a D
Physics was another one --- heavy accented prof would say stuff like "Pillow City" instead of "velocity"

Sadly, it's typing. I taught myself how to type and I type using my fingers where I WANT to use them, not according to where I'm SUPPOSED to use them. I still have an "A" but only because I have an understanding teacher who knows I type just as fast forward as I do backward changing my mistakes ;)

Fred FUcking Feldman you bastard. I can't believe the people at ratemyprofessor gave him a 3.5/5. Not suprised to see that he is the 9th most reviewed professor at the school...you either loved him or hated him i guess.

Anything EE, CS was the easy part, so was math (calc and linear alg) and physics (all the way up to shrodinger's eq and relativity), but every EE class was by far the toughest.
