Man who killed Wife/Kid browsed AFF

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/02/14/en...nts/index.html

"On January 16, just four days before the slayings, Entwistle visited Adult Friend Finder, a Web site that is dedicated to "assisting subscribers in finding sexual partners through Internet chat rooms, personal advertisements and other services, and that Entwistle made attempts to contact persons on that site"

thats some pretty big publicity, but probably not the kind they want

unfortunately CNN will try and find a story in everything - next it will be - he visited a grocery store and bought milk, clerk said, "he was nice... too nice... like he wanted to pick me up and do horrible things to me with milk and an axe"

He's a human killer that killed human's - in other words - he is human. A sick twisted fuck of a human, but a human none the less.

AFF will likley think, there's no such thing as bad publicity and put a spin on it like - "hey if a wife and kid killer can find a date on here - we're sure even you can !!!"

This kind of stuff could end up with a higher ammount of cancelled subscriptions then new signups.

Allthought, aff is like the #25 website on the internet, if they talked about killers visiting yahoo and google before commiting a murder... it would be non stop

the media should be held accountable for what they say and damages they do to businesses. actually aff memberships will soar if they say the name of the site.

thats like saying "a man who shot someone yesterday, has frequented wal mart and used to browse firearms there."

                  Not a chance.

Serial-killers, rapists, and mollesters use google. It hasn't hurt them.

Had AFF been in the news for doing something wrong, this "might" have a negative effect for them. But, simply being a site visited by this man, this will only give them more exposure (more signups over cancellations).

It's a saying that generally holds true. Of course ... there are exceptions.

In the case of AFF, it holds true.

One of his sites, srpublications.co.uk, is listed in this article. It's going to Google now?!?

Ridiculing the matter is fine, but I tend to agree that this won't end up being so much of a laughing matter for AFF.

Nope, it won't... it's just that (as already said).. the news will latch on to anything they can point the blame at and make into a story.

The fact is, killers are killers and will use what ever is at their disposal. Does that mean that there should be no gun manufacturers, knife manufacturers, pillow case manufacturers... etc... no more night clubs, alley ways, houses, parks, streets... etc... no more places for people to meet, no more places for people to be alone, no more places for people to exist...

there will always be somebody to blame and the viewers/readers will eat it up. OMG.. he met someone on a website!? We must shut down that website!! Meanwhile it never even occurs to them that he very likely would have used some other service, some other site, some other method... or just killed because he woke up that day.

I hate the media for pulling this crap on a daily basis, but I hate the general populous even more for soaking it in and believing.
