Depends on how much of a hurry I'm in. Usually back where it belongs but sometimes I'll put ice cream in the cereal aisle.

Sort of what prompted this thread. This morning I saw ice cream dumped in the bread isle. That ruins a product and it can no longer be sold. Borderline theft.Comment

It horrifies me, too, Sarah -- to see the flagrant disregard, devaluation...

I just put it anywhere, I figure job security for someone -- unless it is perishable and then I put it somewhere that it won't spoil.. not usually back in it's place though.http://www.101sextips.com

Put it back where it came from.
When I was in high school I worked part time in retail menswear. I kept my department totally organized and neat, and I'd go nutzo when people would pick up merchandise and then just fling it back without refolding it neatly and stacking it where it belonged.

Yeah I worked in CVS for a bit while I was in high school and even though I always put things back before then I worked there it certainly made me more aware of what a pain it is when people just left things all over the place.Comment

Depends on if I have a screaming baby in hand or not.
Honestly though, shopping is such a routine now that I don't ever have to put anything back, lol. I read the newspaper circulars, I know what's on sale and what my family likes, and I go buy what we need.
I wouldn't put refrigerated products just on a shelf though. I'd at least put them in a refrigerated area, even if it wasn't the correct one.Need Hosting? Reality Check Network services me purrrfectly!

I'll set stuff down wherever I'm standing.
Its called 'cross marketing'.
But I never send the manufacturers a bill for my time to cross market their products, though. I'm kinda' philanthropic that way.Comment

Set it anywhere unless if I am off the isle I got it from. Someone is paid to find it and put it back.
But then again I also throw cans out the car window so the mexicans can continue working.
I like to think I am a "hell of a guy" for thinking about my fellow mans job security that way.
but "lazy" seems to sum it up best!
its all in how you choose to look at it!Comment

Cashiers are the ones who are rude most of the time. Worst are those ones that will greet the person in front of me but then when it's my turn won't greet me at the checkoutline. WTF is that? Nice way to treat their customers.
Next time this happens I think I will contact management and let them know. Cashiers are really rude most of the time.
Oh and if it's non-perishable I put it back wherevers.Last edited by phogirl69; 02-14-2006, 02:43 PM.Comment

I worked in a supermarket when I was a student. The job was so mind numbingly dull and repetitive that I looked forward to returning products that customers couldn't be arsed to return themselves as it helped break up the monotony...Originally posted by KRLWhen I was in high school I worked part time in retail menswear. Judging by the attitude problem you seem to have on the board, I would be willing to bet that it is extended into the real world as well. I can understand how one might want to just get your transaction taken care of and get you out the door with minimal interaction.Originally posted by phogirl69Cashiers are the ones who are rude most of the time. It depends. If i'm shopping and while strolling the store for other items I realize that I don't need or want it, I will put it back.
I sometimes realize at the checkout that I don't need or want an item. At that point I'll hand it to the clerk at the register.
Last night for instance, I was at the checkout and thought to myself.
Why on Earth would I need 2 lbs of Jalapeno cheese slices?
To me it's always important to do the right thing and if you're at Sam's Club the right thing is not to leave that cheese over in Electronics where it may not be found until it goes bad.Last edited by EroticySteve; 02-14-2006, 03:40 PM.Comment

I hate when people put perishables in other isles..I always put it back where it belongsComment
-
I am pretty sure of what I buy, so putting back is not an issue.
However when the checkout lines are unreasonably long, it is almost closing time, and a cashier shuts down, I will walk away from my cart and just leave.

Wow, what a quite intriguing question.. Well, I always make sure there is no sales attendant or guard following me before I leave them anywhere.Originally posted by sarah_webincAre you the type that puts things down anywhere in a supermarkey if you don't want it any more or are you the kind that goes back and puts it back where you got it from?Comment
