it's cool that the sky is actually not falling (right now)... but stop thinking that the adult business matters anything to visa and MC... all they have to do is say "phew" and we're done... even if all webmasters, providers and sponsors unite, they can't do shit if those companies decide to cut the plug...

Cute, Mitch.

As has been stated here by myself, Cathy, and Gramma's copy of what she was told by Jettis, we will all continue to process transactions as normal past May 1st, as much as it pains Mitch.

That sums it up... think about it porn is a very small % of what visa and MC actually process. Bigger merchant account providers won't process porn, I believe the top 5 dont process porn (I know first of omaha for sure does not)

I do not think they will stop processing all together, but the 3rd party thing will be the first to go. You'll be better off and well positioned for the future if yo get your own merchant account, pay far less fees, etc.

BUT, if this is the case you could definately make the analogy that a few bad apples ruined it for the rest of us. 3rd party's should really crack down on some of the bullshit they process for. Remember visa and mc have an image to protect and the being involved with borderline CP, beasteality, etc only hurts their image.

think about the trillions of transactions daily,, shit i use my card 5 times a day at times,,, of course its only 1%,,,

but like kimmykim says it won't bother mastercard as a whole but it sure would affect alot of banks and other smaller companies,, i am sure some kind of lawsuit can be brought up to stop mastercard

What about all the non-adult sites that sell products? Are they going to suffer as well?

Kimmykim 04-22-2002 11:39 AM

The problems that adult faces didn't originate solely with third party processors.

For every DMR that's gone out of business, I'll wager there's at least 10 people with their own merchant accounts that have blown up, whether deliberately or accident.

And it's not limited to adult, we're just a part of the big picture. All high risk categories are inherently going to have issues, otherwise they wouldn't be high risk.

This is an excellent, but LONG, article on how this whole thing got started -- for once, the journalist involved actually did a bit of research and has a fairly good bite on accuracy --

Ahh.. but someone does :)

Getonline.com, through a partnership with WebsiteBilling.com, DuoCash.com & Entertainment Network has already developed and deployed a pre-paid phone card sales & redemption mechanism.

Check out VoyeurDorm.com to see an example of a site accepting payments via pre-paid phone cards.

You can obtain a current list of national retailers offering the cards for sale at http://locate.duocash.com/, and GetOnline will soon be offering a "virtual card" which can be purchased online.

Current WebsiteBilling.com clients wanting to add this additional payment method to their account need only to email their account manager, and request the GetOnline.com payment method.

GetOnline.com is "built into" WebsiteBilling.com's billing system, so no additional integration steps are required for current clients.

Anyone interested obtaining a WebsiteBilling.com account should contact [email protected] or call 1-800-297-3308.

GET FUCKING REAL !!! :321GFY

I mean forget about us little guys making 6 figures or less a year ... The guys making HUGE bank in this busines wil not let their livelihood be pulled out from underneath them ... even if it meant several BIG players forming their own credit company, just so they could obtain the merchant account required to process ALL of our transactions ... and charge us a flat rate for using their merchant account ... I am not saying this is the answer ... but there are soooo many unxplored options at this point ...

Let me say it again ... The game is far from over ... only the rules to the game are changing.

Must you use such name calling, you're so defensive and jumpy. if you're making 6 figures, you should be able to retire soon so settle down.
