Anyone using Linux instead of Windows?

Hi,

It's been a while since I used Linux instead of Windows (since Redhat 5),
and I was wondering, which Linux version (Redhat or others) is best to use nowadays? Not for server purposes, but more to use Linux instead of Windows.
I simply need the fastest one for webmaster jobs and stuff.
And do you prefer Gnome or the KDE software?

I've never ran Windows on a desktop, went from a Mac to LinuxPPC in like '98 and then Linux on an x86 ever since...

The easiest desktop distributions right now are Fedora (redhat) and Ubuntu (debian based)... Personally I'm running Ubuntu on my laptop, it's pretty slick, especially the wireless stuff.

Currently using Gnome, never liked KDE.

Thank you for the replies. I've decided to go with Fedora since I'v used Redhat before. And I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go with KDE instead of Gnome since it used to be faster hehe.

depends if your looking for an easy install and most user friendly or best running and not so user friendly. Fedora 4 is very easy to use and install but Debian kicks fedora's ass in preformance just not as easy to use

I run Linspire on one of my machines, it's not bad, easy to use and real easy to setup.
